Divide & Conquer 2 Results - Jan 27, 2012 - Des Moines, Iowa
1. In a 2011 King of Des Moines Tournament Finals rematch, "2011 King of Des Moines" Ryan Slade defeated "The Unbreakable" Zach Thompson by pinfall following the Ryplex.
2. Casanova & Gage Octane (w/ Todd Countryman, representing Genesis) defeated Ray Stryker & Barry Ryte, pinning Stryker after a phenomenal double-team slam while Casanova held the young rookie in his trademark Sleeperhold.
3. In their 3XW debuts, Miss Natural defeated Stacey O'Brien by pinfall following a Swinging Fisherman's Neckbreaker in a hard-hitting match
4. "The Laotian Sensation" Ricky Kwong (w/ Chad Mylan, representing the MMA) defeated Sir Bradley Charles by pinfall after a rollup. Kwong was assisted by a video of 3XW Pure Wrestling champion Arik Cannon yelling at his rival SBC playing on the video screen, causing SBC to be distracted. Prior to the match, Mylan debuted his own personal solid gold microphone, which he claims is the only one in the world.
5. "The Ironman" Mark Sterling successfully defended the 3XW Heavyweight championship over Maddog McDowell (w/Skylar Pierce, representing the American Bulldogs), pinning McDowell following his signature spear. After the bout, Sterling continued to attack McDowell. Skylar Pierce attempted to help his athlete, only for Sterling to blast him with a forearm to the face. McDowell's partner, Jon West, ran to the ring to help, but Sterling had time to setup an attack, crushing West's neck with The Disaster Piece. As Sterling began to lock the Markshooter on West, Ryan Slade ran out with the Canadian flag, causing Sterling to bail from the ring.
6. In non-title action, 3XW Tag Team champions American Ground & Air (Ben Sailer & Nate Bash, representing Genesis) went to a 15-minute draw with "The Rockstar" Jimmy Rockwell & "Rock n' Roll" Mike Sydal in an excellent match. The closing seconds of the bout saw Sailer locked in Rockwell's Boston Crab and possibly on the verge of submission as time expired.
7. Jaysin Strife beat "The American Fury" Jon West (w/ Skylar Pierce, representing the American Bulldogs) by pinfall after hitting West with a devastating leaping DDT off the middle turnbuckle in a bout that featured many spectacular moves. West favored his neck throughout the bout after the attack by Mark Sterling earlier in the evening.
8. "Torturous" Tony Sly beat "Delicious" Devin Carter (w/ Todd Countryman, representing Genesis) by pinfall after nailing him with the Skid Row. Zach Thompson attempted to interfer in another effort to try to rejoin Genesis, but Sly knocked him off the apron. Todd Countryman's attempt to interfer failed as well.
9. The first NWA World's Heavyweight title match in Des Moines since 1986 featured a very controversial ending that saw Adam Pearce retain the championship. After referee Jeromy Robb was inadvertently crushed by both men in the corner, Jeremy Wyatt applied the Crossface on Pearce, forcing him to submit - except no referee was there to see it! Mark Sterling ran out, but inadvertently nailed Pearce with the Spear when aiming for Wyatt! Wyatt cover Pearce and referee Steve Biley ran out to count the pinfall! Wyatt had won the NWA World's Heavyweight championship and the fans went wild as Wyatt celebrated with the championship!
Robb, however, conferenced with Steve Biley and notified the ring announcer that he saw Sterling hit Pearce with the Spear and that Wyatt had in fact been disqualified! As a result, Pearce retains the title.
As Pearce lay unconscious on the mat, Wyatt through the ropes onto Sterling outside the ring. Sterling and Wyatt brawled all over the arena before returning to the ring, where Pearce clipped Wyatt's knee from behind and both Pearce and Sterling assaulted Wyatt, culminating in a double-team Markshooter/Crossface combo. Pearce forced Wyatt to stare at the NWA title as they held him in the submission hold.
