Congrats on the great crowd. You have come a long way from the small crowds at the VFW that I'm used to being a part of for the last 3 years.

Pro Wrestling BLITZ's Night of Heartache was held Saturday February 25th at St. Joseph Park in Joliet, IL, featuring a new champ, WWE Legend the Honky Tonk Man in action, and Al Snow running the Elite Gauntlet. Before the show, a video played showing "The Insurance Policy" Tony Scarpone and his son Vinnie arriving at the building. Vinnie told his dad he didn't want him wrestling tonight because he was in the Fans Bring the Weapons/Barbed Wire Ropes match last month and what Uncle Rob (Robert “Ego” Anthony) had done to him. Scarpone said he was fine, but promised Vinnie he wouldn't wrestle tonight. Match 1: "Messiah of the Spinebuster" Machine (w/Ratt J. Flywheel) vs. Justin Reno Reno wisely used his speed to catch Machine off guard, dropkicking him to the floor but getting crotched on the top turnbuckle when Flywheel shook the ropes. For the next 5 minutes, Machine abused the young Reno until Reno bounced off the 2nd rope with a moonsault press for 2. Sensing losing control of the match, Machine went for the Spinebuster and hit it for the win in 6:02. Match 2: Kenneth G. Lewis (w/Steve Stone) vs. "Beer City Bruiser" Brandon Blaze Before the match, Stone Temple Savior Steve Stone said he's here to spread the gossip (as opposed to Gospel) of the Stone Temple, noting that the fans don't respect Lewis and Justin Dredd as wrestlers, but he knows they worship the right higher power. After the opening bell, Stone threatened to dump Blaze's Miller Lite, distracting Blaze long enough so Lewis could attack him from behind. The fight spilled to the outside, where Blaze naturally took the upper hand with a Russian leg sweep on the floor. Stone grabbed Blaze's foot as he was getting back in the ring, giving Lewis a shot at a running high kick for 2. Lewis missed a charge in the corner and Blaze hit a t-bone suplex for 2. Lewis avoided a Death Valley Driver attempt, but hit the Death Valley Driver for a 2 count after countering the former Square Root. The Beer City Bruiser caught Lewis in the nose with a forearm, busting him open, then sent him to the floor. Blaze set up for a suicide dive, but Lewis caught him with a chair to the head, forcing the ref to call for the disqualification in 6:45. Stone berating Blaze as Justin Dredd came out. Before a possible 3 on 1 beating could take place, Hardcore Craig came out with a chair to make the save. Match 3: John E. Kash vs. Mike Horning. Horning welcomed Kash to his hometown by introducing him to the audience, holding his arm and letting the crowd get some knife edge chops. Kash came back on an Irish whip with a running STO then proceeded to work over Horning's left arm. Horning came back with an STO of his own, then cinched in a Tequila Sunrise and his German suplex for 2. Kash caught Horning with a back elbow, but got caught with a boot three times while trying to charge the corner. Horning hit a huge top rope frog splash for a very close 2. Kash grabbed an inverted atomic drop when they got to their feet, then set up for a superplex. He made it as high as the bottom rope when Horning hit him with a front flipping neckbreaker for the pin in 7:55. Kash held his own for it being his debut in Horning's hometown, but with the win, Horning's stock continues to rise in BLITZ. "Rockstar" Jimmy Rockwell came out, complaining he didn't have a match on a show with the best wrestling, big stars, and gourmet popcorn. Rockwell seriously wanted some gourmet popcorn. The all too familiar music of the Honky Tonk Man played and out he came to a huge ovation. Showing some real class, Honky asked the crowd that if anyone has long hair and want to get it cut, please be sure to donate it. Honky then broke out into song, to which Rockwell claimed was the worst singing he's ever heard. Rockwell "belted" out a view bars of Journey's Don't Stop Believing, forcing the fans to cover their ears.
Match 4: "Rockstar" Jimmy Rockwell vs. The Honky Tonk Man After the opening bell, Rockwell retreated during the first attempts at a collar elbow tie up, but it paid off when he grabbed Honky in a wrist lock and worked over the arm. Honky reversed that, stepped on Rockwell's hand, then grabbed a headlock on the outside and jammed his thumb repeatedly into the side of the youngster's neck. Rockwell stomped Honky down as he got back into the ring, then choked the WWE Legend with his wrist tape. Honky battled back and used the Rockstar's own tape against him before grabbing Rockwell for the Shake, Rattle, and Roll for pin at the 6:56 mark. A video played showing Mike Anthony and Buddy Roberts Jr. in the locker room. Anthony told Roberts he saw his debut last month and that he's got a lot of potential, so he shouldn't be upset or make excuses when Anthony beats him later tonight. Match 5 (No Limits Championship Match): Hardcore Craig vs. No Limits Champion "Simply Amazing" Justin Dredd (w/Steve Stone). Dredd hesitating getting in the ring so Craig sling-shotted him in. Stone grabbed Craig's leg coming off the ropes (similar to how he grabbed Brandon Blaze's earlier), only the ref caught him this time and ejected Stone from ringside. Craig went for the Hardcore Hangover, but Dredd impressively extended his feet out to swing and counter into a lung blower for 2. The champ went for a frankensteiner, but Craig held him up and flipped him backward with Dredd landing on his face. Craig not surprisingly won an exchange of fists, then countered Dredd's cross body block with a table top suplex and an air raid crash for 2 before hitting a huge superplex. The Stone Temple member got a boot up and enzeguri, but when he went up to the second rope, Craig followed him up with a super power hoist suplex! It was in the books at that point, as Craig hit the Hardcore Hangover to get the win and become the new BLITZ No Limits Champion in 8:28. Afterward, Craig got a chair and got revenge for what the Stone Temple did to Brandon Blaze earlier in the night by cracking Dredd twice across the back and once over the head for good measure. Sick, sick chair shots! Steve Stone and Kenneth G. Lewis had come out to try and reason with Craig to stop and looked absolutely appalled with what they had witnessed. "Latin Lover" Tony Rican came out to address the crowd about his injury. He said because of Matty Starr's package piledriver last month, he's not medically cleared to wrestle tonight in Barry Ryte's Warrior Challenge. Ryte came out and scoffed at Rican's neck injury, reminding him, and everyone else, how he beat cancer and had a blood clot. Rican wanted to wrestle anyway, and the fans were all for it, but BLITZ official Toby Hope came out and said the match couldn't happen for insurance reasons. Hope finally relented and sanctioned the match on behalf of BLITZ. Match 6: "Warrior" Barry Ryte vs. "Latin Lover" Tony Rican The more experienced Rican was able to hit his offense, but moves like a dropkick caused him to land on his neck and limit use of his left arm, allowing Ryte to gain the advantage. Ryte repeatedly came off the second rope with elbows down across the Rican's neck and get a 2-count with a necktie neckbreaker. Rican got his Backstabber of off the top when Ryte went up to the top rope for another elbow, but the Latin Lover could barely move after the impact. As the ref checked on Rican, Ryte grabbed the golden rope he wore around his head and wrapped it around the Latin Lover's neck, disguising it as a sleeper hold. Rican was unresponsive as his eyes rolled into the head of his head, so the ref called for the bell, awarding the match to Ryte by technical knockout in 5:17. Soon after, Elite Agent Rinaldo Piven and Enforcer Joey Kovar came out to beat down Rican. Kovar applied a camel clutch as Piven on behalf of Matty Starr ran down Rican until Tony Scarpone and Mike Horning broke it up. Rican looked like he was going to get up without much help, but then crumpled to the mat. Scarpone and Horning helped him to the back. Match 7: Buddy Roberts, Jr. vs. Mike Anthony Excellent opportunity here for Roberts to show what he's made of again a 20+ year veteran. Anthony may have expected Roberts to come at him fast and hard like his tag match last month, but Roberts was careful with Anthony and it paid off in the first part of the match. Roberts went for a bulldog, but Anthony countered it with a back suplex. Anthony controlled the action as it went to the floor, then suplexed Roberts back into the ring for a 2-count. Roberts came back with a bodyslam, but missed a top rope elbow. Anthony locked on a sleeper hold, which Roberts fought until Anthony pulled him down to the mat and wrapped his legs around him for a rear naked choke to get the win in 3:53. Main Event (Gauntlet Match): The Elite (w/Rinaldo Piven and Elite Enforcer Joey Kovar) vs. Al Snow (w/Head) Piven said that since Matty Starr isn't here tonight, he's hired two wrestlers to one night Elite contracts. He introduced "Rockstar" Jimmy Rockwell. Rockwell, still favoring his neck from the Shake, Rattle, and Roll, told Snow they didn't have to do this. A boot and a Snowplow later, Rockwell was eliminated. Out next was the second of the two wrestlers Piven signed to a one night Elite contract, John E. Kash. Kash caught Snow's boot, but Snow hit an enzeguri. Snow went for the Snowplow but Kash went to the eyes. However, it wasn't long before Kash was eliminated after a Snowplow. Zach Thompson was next. Snow went for Head but the ref stopped him, giving Zach a chance hit some of his signature kicks, but Snow got past him with another Snowplow. Ashton Vuitton was the fourth man in, and he showed he learned a lot from wrestling Al Snow last December, as he held his own with the veteren, getting a 2 count with a swinging fisherman's suplex. Vuitton went for a Northern Lights Bomb, but Snow countered with a Snowplow to eliminate Vuitton. Before the fifth and final participant came out, Rockwell, Kash, and Thompson charged the ring and laid waste to Snow. BLITZ Champion "Simply Ravishing" Ryan Slade took his time getting to the ring, confident that Snow had been beaten down. However, when he dragged Snow to his feet, Snow grabbed him in a small package to get the win! 14:16 total match time. The Elite went for the attack, but Snow got ahold of Head and cleared the ring, even catching Joey Kovar square in the face with Head. Afterward, Piven took the mic and claimed Joliet is a curse. Then Slade said there's a problem in the Elite, and it starts and ends with Ashton Vuitton. Vuitton questioned why he has to have the Elite's back but they never have his. For being "insubordinate", Piven fired Vuitton as the Elite stomped him down. Al Snow made the save, clearing the ring without having to hit anyone. Vuitton clentched a fist, and Snow wielded Head, but (apparently) per Head's advice, Snow extended a hand, which Vuitton accepted. Snow raised Vuitton's hand to close the show.
