March Madness was in the atmosphere last night (March 17th, 2012) during the NAPW's (North American Pro Wrestling) sizzling St. Patty's Day Slam. Many families celebrated St. Patty's Day at the Elburn Community Center in Elburn, IL for a fun evening of pro wrestling action. Local Elburn resident Maggie had a blast as she normally does when NAPW hits town. "The Massive Mountain" Michael Mack was also in attendance recovering from his surgery. He told the Poisonous Anchovie that he should be returning to the squared circle within the next month. The hot dogs were even better at this show. Fans were treated to a meet-n-greet with special guest Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana.
Our Master of Ceremony "The Articulator" Steve Kenton once again opened the show as he was escorted to ringside by the newest ringside gal named Kadance Kelli. A dance with Kadance would be sweet. No wonder Kenton was perspiring before the show began. Bobby "The Mean Brain" Okerlund was the color commentator, DC Video 108 was on hand to record the sow for DVD and Getch was the official for the evening. Getch told the Poisonous Anchovie that this evening was dedicated to the memory of the late Dick Woehrle. The former WWF/AWA referee would have been proud of Getch's officiating and dedication.
1. "The Warrior" Barry Ryte vs "The Difference" Joey Rose
This was match #6 in a best of seven series known as the Warrior Invitational. Rose sported a 3-2 lead in the series. This was a crucial must win for Ryte. The two competitors quickly locked up with Barry slapping the back of Joey's head. A fired up Rose went on a flurry with a hip toss, arm drag and monkey flip. A desperate eye rake by Ryte found him a breather. As a few minutes passed, Ryte was hurled into the steel barricade from the ring apron. Joey's momentum crashed as he suffered from a Ryte leg drop. A series of short, stiff kicks to the face put the lights out for Rose.
Winner: "The Warrior" Barry Ryte
*Ryte even the best of seven series to three falls a piece. The show was halted for five minutes as Joey was unconscious from the thunderous kicks. With the aid of Commissioner Rockin Randy and Getch, Joey was able to leave ringside area on his own. A round of applause by the NAPW fans echoed throughout the community center. Hate to see something like that happen to anyone.
2. Alex Bernadino vs "Irish" Andy Anderson
Bernadino, the popular rookie, locked up with his Irish veteran only to receive a cheap shot. A second lock up resulted in a slap to the face by the Irishman. Alex began to boil. Bernadino scored with some heavy chops, two monkey flips and a elbow blow in the corner. Bernadino began to chant "Irish Chicken". The crafty veteran changed the tide with a jawbreaker. Alex suffered a classic rope burn to his face. Anderson successfully splashed off the second rope onto his fallen prey. The second attempt went sour as young Bernadino brought up his knees in desperation. Alex leaped off the top rope with a flying elbow to the Irishman's head. The Luck of the Irish shined with Andy as Bernadino attempted another top rope maneuver. Andy caught Bernadino and turned him for an Anderson spine buster for a "W".
Winner: "Irish" Andy Anderson
3. Doug Simmons vs Anthony Antonelli
A pissed off Simmons with a chip on his shoulder took his frustrations on the rising Italian star in NAPW. Antonelli went on the second rope to receive cheers from his adoring fans. Simmons jerked the rookie backwards crashing him to the mat. Doug controlled a majority of the contest. Antonelli twice almost pulled off a miracle with a small package and a sunset flip. Simmons cockiness and jaw-jacking with the fans kept the Italian hero in the match. Simmons had the match won on two occasions but his vanity made him pull up his opponent before a three count. The upset did occur when Antonelli scored a pinfall with his signature high cross body off the ropes.
Winner: Anthony Antonelli
4. Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana & Tweek Phoenix vs Ravishing Ryan Kross and "Loverboy" Jeff Luxon (The Midnight Express Reboot)
The first half of the double main event. One of the top indy wrestlers in the nation in Colt Cabana teams up with a much respected veteran in Tweek Phoenix to challenge one of the hottest tag teams in the Midwest in the Midnight Express Reboot. A great match that received huge pops.
Colt worked his classic magic to fire up the crowd. Tweek tagged in to lock up with the powerful Kross. Kross shoved Phoenix back into the ropes. Tweek used a head lock and a shoulder tackle that had no effect on the big man. Another loud Elburn pop when Tweek successfully took Kross down with a second shoulder tackle. Cabana quickly tagged in scoring a near pinfall with a roll-up on Kross. Luxon entered only to suffer a series of arm bars and quick tags by the opposition.
An awesome leg sweep off the second rope by Luxon sent Tweek crashing to the mat. Kross enters delivering a half Boston crab and nailing Tweek with a powerful clothesline. The Reboot displayed why they are so dominate. Tweek came close on several occasions to take the fall. The match saving tag finally happened as Colt exploded onto the Reboot. All four men entered the ring as chaos broke loose. Phoenix hit Reboot with an impressive double dropkick. The powerful Kross picked up Tweek for a potential fall-away slam. Cabana used some "Boom Boom" butt action to knock his partner on Kross for the pin.
Winners: Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana & Tweek Phoenix
*Reboot ,after suffering their first defeat in NAPW, attacked their opponents. Anthony Antonelli flew to ringside with a chair for the save. Tweek and Antonelli will seek revenge on April 21st in Elburn against the Midnight Express Reboot.

5. Cousin Anthony vs "The Urban Legend" Willie Da Bomb Richardson
The Chicago veteran Richardson dominated most of this match. It was a short, physical contest between two large men. Cousin Anthony was sporting jeans and overhauls. Not sure if this was his correct name. If I'm wrong, someone in NAPW please correct me. A pounce by Willie sealed him the victory. Great to see a classic pro like Willie make an appearance in NAPW.
Winner: "The Urban Legend" Willie Da Bomb Richardson
6. Texas Pete vs Jack Carpenter
Great to see Texas Pete back to his love-able dancing ways like he was back in the old CLPW. An eye rake and hard suplex gave Carpenter an early lead. A Northern Lights suplex almost gave Jack the early win. Pete counters with a huge boot to the face. An impressive flying fist off the ropes leveled Carpenter. A wild tornado DDT gave Pete the duke.
Winner: Texas Pete
*This concludes part 1 of the March 17th results from Elburn. I will post part 2 in a day or two with results of the Rookie Gauntlet match and the triple threat match for the NAPW title that was scheduled for the best 2-out-of-4 falls.
