Saturday evening of July 13th, IPW (Impact Pro Wrestling) and the Dan Gable Museum put on a fantastic indy show with many legends in attendance. Some of the legends included Edge, Jumping Jim Brunzell, the great Danny Hodge, Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon, Baron von Raschke, Larry "The Axe" Hennig, Gerald Brisco & Jim Ross. The show was held at the Five Brothers Sullivan Convention Center in beautiful Waterloo, Iowa. A training seminar was held that afternoon (see results thread for the seminar). A special autograph signing was held between 5:30-7pm and during intermission. Edge stuck around after the show to make sure everyone went home happy. IPW owner Troy Peterson celebrated his 40th Birthday that evening. A special slice of cake goes out to him for the hard-working effort he puts on every year. A must for all wrestling fans to make the trip one time to Iowa for the HOF weekend at the museum.
1. The Big Picture and Marshall Scott vs Justin Decent & Ugly
A good opening match starring former IPW Tag Champions Decent & Ugly. Decent locked up with the Big Picture and hooked his left arm in a solid arm bar. The former champs would go to work on the left arm for a few minutes. Ugly would soon fall victim to punishment by the duo of Scott & Big Picture. The crucial tag sending in a riled up Decent would quickly be the downfall as Decent would score the huge "W" with a power bomb.
Winners: Justin Decent & Ugly
2. Tony Sly vs Sparrow
Two of IPW's top veterans would clash in this contest. No strangers to each other and I believe they have fought each other in the past during HOF weekend. The action went back-n-forth with the crowd popping for the good mat wrestling action. The sneaky Sly would eventually pull out the duke.
Winner: Tony Sly
3. Kiandra vs Miss Frankie
Always got to have a good ladies match to rile up the crowd. Frankie almost scored a shocker with a near opening bell roll-up. The action would spill onto the floor. Miss Frankie's shoulder would eat the steel post. Kiandra would take a turn as a missed chop on her part would slap the post. The action continued back in the ring with Kiandra taking charge. The crowd was 100% behind Miss Frankie as she bounced back into the bout with chops and kicks. Poor Frankie would walk into a vicious side kick by her opponent.
Winner: Kiandra
4. Matty Star vs Colt Cabana
The popular Colt Cabana came to ringside carrying some excited young fan. Matty Star was acting as his usual cocky self. This was easily one of the better matches on the card. Star caught Colt early with a cheap kick to the gut. Cabana bounces back to deliver a thunderous slam. The match went back-n-forth. Crowd continued to pop big time for Cabana. The bout concluded when Star was caught into a version of the GTS (Go To Sleep) and placed in Colt's famous reversal of the Boston Crab.
Winner: Colt Cabana
*Matty Star was frustrated with the loss. Bellowed to the crowd that he could beat anybody else from the back. An open challenge was made. Former AWA veteran Jake "The Milkman" Milliman strolled down to ringside to except the challenge.
5. Matty Star vs Jake "The Milkman "Milliman
Always great to see a classic veteran like Milliman. The much younger Star controlled most of the match but the wild Milkman would never give up. A huge pop roared when Jake caught his opponent with a double ax handle. A fun match to watch. Another heartfelt loss for Matty when the veteran would catch him with a headbutt off the second rope.
Winner: Jake "The Milkman" Milliman

7. Mik Drake vs Flex
This was an added match to the card. Both men were impressive earlier during the training seminar held by Gerald Brisco and Jim Ross. A solid but short match that went back-n-forth. The muscular Flex won with a powerslam.
Winner: Flex
8. The IPW Tag Team Champions AJ Smooth & Ryan Slade vs James Jefferies & Perry Saturn
Smooth and Slade are classic Canadian heels. Top guys within the IPW organization. Jefferies is a young, upcoming star that reminds one of the Rockers in their day. Doesn't hurt that James teamed up with a tough veteran in former ECW, WCW & WWE star Perry Saturn. This was a great match. The crowd popped for Saturn & Jefferies throught the match. Saturn tosses a chair into the ring before the match to show he means business.
Slade and Jefferies open the title match with Jefferies taking early advantage of his opponent's leg. Nice tags by the challengers. The champions would not be out done as they cut the ring in half and focused on their smaller, younger challenger. Jefferies took a beating and almost past out when Slade applied a reversal to the classic Bear hug hold.
The huge tag to Saturn was finally made. The former WWE great nails both champions with a set of back suplexes. The challengers caught the champions with a set of super kicks. Smooth would get nailed with a thunderous brain buster by Saturn and a splash by Jefferies would shock the crowd in Waterloo.
Winners: The New IPW Tag Champions Perry Saturn & James Jefferies
9. The Main Event: IPW HeavyWeight Champion "The Tangerine Dream" Ricky Love vs Nicky Free in a Legends Lumberjack Match
A wonderful main event to conclude this wonderful evening. Ricky Love won the IPW title only two days ago. His celebration would be cut short as he'd have to defend his title against one of IPW's greatest champions in Nicky Free. Many of IPW's heels came out to support Free. Love would be backed by both the faces of IPW and some of the legends in Danny Hodge, Perry Saturn, Jake "The Milkman" Milliman, Jumping Jim Brunzell & Baron von Raschke.
The title match opened with the contestants trading off with hard shots. The challenger would get caught in a big body slam. The champion would suffer a nasty back breaker. "The Tangerine Dream" would suffer a nightmare as he was tossed to the arena floor to be walloped by the heel lumberjacks. Love would bounce back and take the challenger to town. Nicky ended up on the floor with the legends to suffer the fate from the previous year. Free would get rocked by a Hodge uppercut and the tight gripping claw by the legendary Baron von Raschke. The new champion would retain his title.
Winner: "The Tangerine Dream" Ricky Love
-Special thanks go out to IPW senior official Billy J for doing a great job all year keeping the fans informed on all the events and changes made for this HOF weekend.
-Hope to post interviews soon with IPW stars Ricky Love & James Jefferies.
