Got here. The seats are about half full. I'm the only guy in a third row at the start. Bar quiet now.
1. Dan Lawrence vs. Knight Wagner vs. Alex Colon vs. Lamar Titan vs. Tweek vs. J. Miller.
Miller pin Titan w/ two flying knees off top. Wagner & Colon suplexed each other off second rope to floor, Colon hit post with leg. Another dive. Tweek tore his bicep, out 4-6 weeks.
Rican blasted knight with a steel chair post match.
Creepy walker promo about dealing with devils. Walker now beast.
2. McIntyre/natural vs. esparza/lovelace.
Slap to Jordan, shooting star elbow + Heidi's frog splash = 3. Very solid.
Dr. Keith & Rican promo. Rican vs. Knight, dog collar match set for August. Decent pop.
3. Brave vs. Rose went to no contest in a street fight. Brave juiced huge & was cuffed to the top rope. Rose just verbally tore Brave on the mic & hit the ref with barbed wire. Very good. Other refs came out to handle the whole thing. Not as brutal as the Sami vs. Hollister match a few months ago, but Rose got himself over with the match and the promo. Somebody got powerbombed into chairs, somebody got a stop sign to the gut, and Rose got suplexed on the stage.
Silas Young promo. Called out Kingston for 8/23.
4. Lyndon/Fontaine vs. Irish Airborne. Fontaine superkick on dave for 3. Decent, ending looked botched. Arik Cannon came out to stop IA sneak attack. They had a hard act to follow, but did OK. Fontaine's best in-ring performance in a while. Lyndon has cut back on the screaming, thankfully. Ending looked bad. Multiple superkicks and a double superkick on a Crist for two and then one superkick on the same Crist for the duke and Crist came off the ropes. Yeah, I didn't see that logic there.
Kingston promo. Fine.
5. Keith Walker d. Carlito with power bomb & lariat. Very good. Nikki got apple in the face, setting up the finish. Carlito looked good and took stiff shots. Carlito was in good shape and worked hard. Walker got rid of a bit of his flab and moved really well.
6. Shane Hollister d Flip Kendrick with superkick & brainbuster. First match of intermission, so crowd wasn't up that much. Flip did a flip off the stage and a few flip into the corner. Now my rant: Two months ago, AAW had Shane Hollister win a brutal match to essentially earn a shot at the champ the next month. Two months later, Flip gets a title shot despite not having been in AAW in years. This isn't unusual...remember Tony Rican getting a shot at Jerry Lynn despite being a jobber? Don't devalue the title, make the challenger earn it. Or have the champ give out a open challenge. Better than just presenting the match as is.
7. Monster Mafia vs. Jacobs/Cannon went to no-contest after Airborne rushed the ring. Two NC on the same show? Double drink spot with Arik and Jimmy. I think Mafia is OK, but would prefer the kid lose the headgear. Doesn't make him look "Monster."
Tara/Lisa Marie Baron brought in. F TNA chant, and Lisa encouraged it. Markus Crane came out to complain & got a botched Gory Special & moonsault for his trouble.
8. Eddie Kingston d. Rhino. Went out into the crowd. Gore got 2. Kingston got bombed into a stack of chairs, but put Rhino into a corner chair. There backfists + a low kick got the duke.Eddie got into it with some fans and shoved one before he went into the dance club, where he certainly stood out to a few of the ladies dancing and drinking.
Not a bad show overall, especially with a lot of ROH talent occupied and some booking flaws.
