AAW 8/23 Results

Forgot to take notes:

Had high expectations. Didn't exactly live up to it, but that may have been me expecting too much and a war between Kingston vs. Silas.

Best botch of the show was ACH cutting a promo in the alley in front of a garage. He was wrapping up, and the door started to open. Had to start over. Ha.

Gravity got a shock double rollup win. Very heated and the crowd blew for a lot of the spots, including one near-near fall that involved some flippy stuff. Not a lot of botching, maybe one. It was so good and the match was so heated, nothing else really came up to that. Page is a real talent, and Alexander brings some attitude. I get them now.

Rican got laid out. Eh. Wagner got powerbombed. Eh. Moved the angle along. Harvey continues to give off a "Sinister" Jim Miller vibe. No dancing for Rican and good heat for Wagner.

Tag title match was good, but can't remember the finish. Crane tore up a fan's dry-erase board. Lawrence threatened to urinate in a fan's mouth. Lyndon has toned down the screaming and it has helped. He NAILED a suicide dive onto Lawrence and turned it into a DDT on the floor. Sounded sick.

Not many kicks in the title match. Nobody throws a superkick better than Shane Hollister now that HBK is gone. Not even you, Mr. Boz.

ACH's athleticism sets him apart. His talking is good. His charisma is strong. He can do extra flips in the ring and not come off as overly showboating. He's still over despite being gone a few months. If they're going to move a face to the top spot, it should be him. ACH vs. Hollister would be a good program.

Lovelace's top keeps coming undone. Quite distracting.

Natural spit at Boz. Boz came in the ring and kicked her hard in the face. Boz driver looked brutal.

However, I must point out something. I've seen the edited footage of the boot and the commentary, handled by Prazak and Kingston. Prazak was gleeful at the spot, which I don't think was the right reaction. Kingston's cry of "I'm gonna rape you Prazak" was unnecessary and not funny, considering a woman just got brutalized in the ring.

I don't know what's with the AAW rape references, but 2-3 a show are just overkill at best and offensive at worse.

The three-way was better than I thought. Fitchett took a brutal head bump on the apron. Good way to get Elgin back up the card. Took some time to get going, but I enjoyed this more than I thought.

Jimmy dove off a few stages, but hard to tell what else happened. Beer spot. Good finish to the feud, if not great.

Good heat for the main, and while it wasn't as long as I would have wanted, I didn't think it was over after this night, and they gave Silas an out and a reason to continue.

Aside from the rape stuff, I can't complain.
