VULGAR DISPLAY OF POWER THANK YOU: to all of the fans who braved an impromptu winter storm to join RESISTANCE Pro at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park, IL for VULGAR DISPLAY OF POWER on Friday January 17th. Let’s get to the results!
Pre-show:
1) In their in-ring debuts, DIABLO JONES defeated the Head of Security for R-Pro MIKE BRADLEY. Both men gave their all and showed the crowd that they have the heart to make it in this business.
2) WAYNE VAN d**e battled “The Last Rock Star” EDDIE GRAVES in a fast-paced match that ultimately saw VAN d**e get the win.
3) In the pre-show main event, REMI WILKINS and “The Silverback” CHRIS HALL threw everything they had at each other. Ultimately, the brute strength of HALL overtook his opponent and earned him the victory.
Main show:
1) In a “Fatal 4 Way” Match, JAKE O’NEILL, his manservant SCOTTY “The Kid” YOUNG, “The Muay Thai Warrior” COBRA, and “Mr. M-80″ MARSHE ROCKETT kicked off the show at full throttle. All four men put on a showcase of their amazing technical abilities and high-flying derring-do, but the crafty O’NEILL scored the victory much to the chagrin of the capacity crowd.
2) In one of the most brutal bouts in recent memory, CRAZY MARY DOBSON battled MICKIE “Moose” KNUCKLES in a match that literally left the crowd gasping in shock. KNUCKLES attacked DOBSON as soon as she entered the ring –while DOBSON was still in her trademark straightjacket! She then proceeded to bust open the young fan favorite and decimate her with a top-rope improvised powerbomb/lungblower! This match has to be seen to be believed – look for it soon on our YouTube channel RealRESISTANCEPro!
3) ECW/WWE/WCW Legend TRACY SMOTHERS came to the ring (with his daughter JESSIE BELLE SMOTHERS) and thanked the crowd for coming out. When he mentioned that he didn’t have an opponent yet, he was interrupted by COL. JESSE CORGAN and his new mercenary the returning DANY ONLY. SMOTHERS accepted the challenge and the match was on! COL. CORGAN sent his new female charges JESSE’S GIRLS (LYLAH LODGE and CAMRON STAR) to take out JESSIE BELLE, and it was a melee both inside the ring and out! SMOTHERS eventually scored the victory over ONLY, but COL. CORGAN proved his new group is stronger – and more dangerous – than ever.
4) Originally scheduled as a match between TWO STAR HEROES and THE PAINKILLERS (w/ERYN), Creative Director BILLY CORGAN decided to up the ante by making this a “Golden Ticket” Match where the winner received a Tag Team Championship title shot they could cash in whenever they want. Not only that, he made it a Three-Way-Dance by adding fan-favorites TEAM I.O.U.! The bell rang and it was on – bodies flew everywhere and even PAINKILLERS manager ERYN got knocked out! MATT KNICKS was knocked loopy on the stage, but was revived (!) by a kiss from RESISTANCE Pro Music Director ALEXIS VON SSTARIA. When the dust finally settled, THE PAINKILLERS emerged the winners and holders of the first-ever “Golden Ticket”!
5) In the penultimate match of their year-long feud, newly crowned Tag Team Champions DA SOUL TOUCHAZ (“The Urban American Dream” WILLIE “Da Bomb” RICHARDSON and “Hot Chocolate” ACID JAZ) faced LOCK-UP (SUGE D and EPIC). Managers were barred from ringside from the match, and while TOUCHAZ manager C-RED had no problem with this, WARDEN MYERS and DA BOSS needed to be removed physically by R-Pro owners GABRIEL and JACQUES BARON! Once that problem was rectified, the match was on and the crowd became unglued. After back and forth action that rivaled their past bouts, DA SOUL TOUCHAZ cemented their championship win by earning the victory. The crowd celebrated with the champions until…
5.1) THE PAINKILLERS (w/ERYN) decided to cash in their newly won “Golden Ticket” for a Tag Team Championship match against the drained DA SOUL TOUCHAZ. R-Pro owners GABRIEL and JACQUES BARON gave their blessing for the match to Head Referee ROBERT KING and the match was on…for about 10 seconds. WILLIE “Da Bomb” RICHARDSON gave his trademark “Pounce!” to THE PAINKILLERS and got the pinfall. Two successful title defenses in one night for the ever-popular Tag-Team Champions!
6) In a rare Women’s Championship match between two fan favorites, champion D’ARCY DIXON faced throwback superstar THUNDERKITTY. KITTY took the champ to her limits the entire match, showing more focus and determination than ever. After a lengthy bout that had the crowd on their feet, the champ proved her mettle by defeating her opponent. Both ladies shook hands and proved – yet again – why the women of RESISTANCE Pro are not to be taken lightly!
7) It was “Hardcore Heaven” at 115 Bourbon Street when “The Male Model” ASHTON VUITTON, ERIC ST. VAUGHN, and “The Inspiration” BRADY PIERCE faced ECW Legends RAVEN, “The Innovator of Violence” TOMMY DREAMER, and R-Pro’s own MAD MAN PONDO in a 6 man hardcore tag-team bout. Weapons – and bodies – flew everywhere and Chicago’s South Side felt like a bingo hall in South Philadelphia the entire match. Singapore canes, stop signs, fans drinks, baseball bats, and more were employed to the delight of the crowd. After working cohesively for a while, out of nowhere, RAVEN gave “The Raven Effect” DDT to his old nemesis (and current tag partner) TOMMY DREAMER and allowed ASHTON VUITTON to get the pinfall victory for his team. Post match, RAVEN made it very clear to all that it wasn’t a favor for VUITTON, but anytime he can hurt TOMMY DREAMER, he will.
8) In the Main Event, Heavyweight Champion JOCEPHUS (w/EVE) defended his title against former champ “The Ego” ROBERT ANTHONY. Both men went “balls to the wall” in this one, but EGO’s frustration from losing the title at the last show to his opponent was obvious to all. EGO even roughed-up commentator ZACH THOMPSON during the match which was clearly a sign of this problem. After more brutality from both sides, JOCEPHUS defeated EGO and offered to show him why he is indeed “The truth, the light, and the way”. - See more at: www.resistancepro.com/events/#sthash.iB9Cpaxb.dpuf
