TNA made its debut last Saturday evening at the NIU Convocation Center in my hometown of DeKalb, IL. Hard to estimate the crowd but a buddy thought it was 1,000 or more. I think TNA was happy with us fans even though 2 inches of snow took place that afternoon. The crowd was really into the show. The Convo Center charges $5 to park compared to $20-25 at other venues.
The complete card was:
1. Cowboy James Storm super-kicking Ethan Carter III for a pinfall. Solid opening match.
2. Velvet Sky defeated Gail Kim. Both Knockouts received a nice ovation.
3. The Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) defeated the Tag Team Champions the BroMans (Jessie & Robbie E ) by DQ. Easily the best match of the night.
4. Bobby Roode rolled up Gunner with tights.
5. Mr. Anderson defeated Bully Ray in best 2-out-of-3 falls contest.
Intermission
6. TNA Champion Magnus defeated Samoa Joe in a steel cage match. EC3 slammed the cage door on Joe's head. Magnus left with the gold while EC3 entered the ring only to receive a beating by Joe.
Both members of the Convo Center staff and TNA security thought this was a positive event and there are good chances for TNA to return sometime down the road.

I ended up calling the Convo Center box office and they told me the 1,000 people number I estimated was very close. They wouldn't give me the exact total but we'll just say around 1,000.
