WWE Live Event Chicago, Illinois at Allstate Arena Report by Dot Net reader Michael Leith
1. Sin Cara beat Justin Gabriel. The match started slow and then picked up post match. A Bray Wyatt promo played and then he was in the ring destroying Sin Cara and Gabriel. I had a lot of faith in in Gabriel when he was in The Nexus and hoped he would do something.
2. Los Matadores and El Torito beat Tyler Breeze, Titus O'Neil, and Hornswoggle. A funny gimmick match for the kids.
Bad News Barrett came out to a huge pop to cut a promo. He said he doesn't wrestle in second class cities like Chicago, so his return would not take place tonight.
3. R-Truth beat Adam Rose. The Bunny was not with Rose. This was a bathroom break match that Truth won in a rollup in about five minutes.
4. Roman Reigns beat Rusev (w/Lana) by DQ in a U.S. Championship match. Rusev came out and challenged anybody who had the guts to face him. I don't know why they do this when we all knew he was going against Reigns, who came out to be the biggest pop of the night at this point. The pre-teen girls love him. He must be the new A.C. Slater or something. Reigns got the DQ win when Rusev hit him over the head with the title belt. Great match for these two.
They announced that Extreme Rules will be in Chicago on April 26. The pre-sale password is EXTREME via Ticketmaster.
5. Charlotte, Naomi, and Natalya beat Sasha Banks, Summer Rae, and Cameron in a Santa's Helper match. A decent match when the NXT duo were in the ring. Natalya slapped on the Sharpshooter on Summer Rae for the tap out win.
6. The New Day beat Goldust & Stardust and Cesaro and Tyson Kidd in a three-way tag. Xavier Wood pinned Stardust. There were a lot of "your wife's better" chants directed at Kidd.
7. Dean Ambrose beat Bray Wyatt in a Street Fight. This is the third time I've seen these guys and Wyatt's entrance is phenomenal even at a house show. A great fast paced match. Everyone was chanting for tables, and both men were put through tables. They also both used their finishers. Ambrose won by pin.
Overall, a really good show given the only star power they had was Rusev, Reigns, Wyatt, and Ambrose.
Biggest Pops
1. Ambrose and Wyatt (Ambrose for the kids, Wyatt for adults) 2. Roman Riengs (the kids love 2/3 of The Shield, what a difference a year makes) 3. Goldust and Stardust 4. Natalya (she made the crowd come to life for the second half of the show)
Most Heat 1. Rusev and Lana (lots of USA chants) 2. Adam Rose (I think people booed because The Bunny wasn't with him) 3. Tyler Breeze (he didn't get heat, just crickets)
