CSW April 23, 2016
Chebanse, IL
Civic Center
CSW Southland
Coming out of the April Anarchy event (April 16th at the Edison Park Inn on the northwest side of Chicago), where months of questions were answered when the 2 Man Power Trip was expanded into the 5 Man Power Trip, it seems that we now have even more questions than we we did before.
The smartest man in all the world, GPA, headed into the Southland to defend his Metra Division Championship against Ian Gauger. He was successful in this endeavor, but only with the help of his cohort Beau Anderson holding Ian's foot down.
Thus far, we can only speculate as to GPA's reasons for joining this malevolent group, but safety in numbers seems to be a key factor.
After dominating the tag team division for years, (holding the CSW Tag Team Championships with Hunter Paine and recently with both Paine and Aaron Xavier in a 3-Man unit), Marco Anthony was blindsided by his tag team partner, (the aforementioned Aaron Xavier), at the April 16th event, when responding to a challenge issued by the 2-Man Power Trip. He instinctively went into battle but it wasn't enough to prevail against the surprise attack and ended up losing the titles to Jason Dukes and Willie "The Bomb" Richardson.
Marco Anthony extracted one measure of revenge in Chebanse when he beat Dukes' and Richardson's cohort, Beau Anderson. Enraged over the loss of the titles, Hunter Paine joined Marco in attacking Anderson and not letting up until CSW official Mike Neumann came out and somehow was able to get them to stop.
Then, an unlikely duo of The Lunatic and Chris Miller teamed up to stun The Young Guns; Jake Andrews & Elliott Paul with an upset win.
In a battle of two of the most versatile athletes in professional wrestling, Lamar Titan beat GQ Greeko Suave.
One week after having lost the CSW Heavyweight Championship in disgusting fashion to Bryce Benjamin, (who was handed a roll of quarters by Beau Anderson, then proceeded to use it as a weapon and secure the title win), Acid Jaz remained undaunted in his mindset and he beat one of the most vicious men on the planet, Ivan Manson.
Irritated as always, Elite Paine made their feelings known again on this night in Chebanse, when they attacked The Strays. Again putting a stop to the attack was CSW official Mike Neumann - only this time he took their side and turned on The Strays, en route to Hunter Paine scoring a win over Andy Black.
The main event saw the CSW Southland Champion Sean Mulligan defending his title against Waylan Beck, with both men fighting to a double-pin situation involving two referees. After going on to secure the win, Mulligan apparently went crazy and attacked one of the referees, his defeated challenger Beck, the world famous hard rock and heavy metal radio superstar Freak, as well as the lovely and alluring Allison.
In a press release after this show took place, in announcing the specifics of the next CSW Southland event, scheduled for May 20th back at the Chebanse Civic Center, the voice of the Midwest wrestling scene, Steve Kenton, issued the following statement:
"At the April Live Event, CSW Southland Heavyweight Champion Sean Mulligan turned on his fans and attacked everything in sight after his victory against Waylon Beck. The Freak continues to have unfinished business with "Mad Dog" Ivan Manson. "Hell's Cowboy" Hunter Paine with his new accomplice, Mike Neumann, continued decimating Johnny Wild's Strays, one by one. New stars appeared on the scene challenging the biggest and toughest in CSW Southland. A new CSW Southland President, Doug Keast, was appointed to control the scene. Feuds continue to unravel leading up to this Spectacular."
