I follow the progress of the Crusher statue on facebook and it looks the festivities will be fun but I can't make it.

I was planning on attending but had a last minute change of plans. I'm going to try to stop by tomorrow for Day 2 of the event. Quite a bit of Coverage on TV, Radio, Newspapers, etc. for the event. Hopefully this will become an annual event in South Milwaukee.

Heard the event went well and a Huge Turn Out. Jerry Lawler was not able to attend but Baron Von Raschke and Kenny Jay were at the event.

Read the Milwaukee newspaper account! The artist did a fantastic job on the statue! Only thing missing was the "Crush" smoking one of his big cigars -- but I suppose the anti-tobacco Nazis would have pitched a fit!
Had my own private celebration listening to a cassette tape I had made of the "Crusher's" AWA tv show interviews!

I tweeted Lawler yesterday asking him what happened, but he never replied. I would be interested in knowing why he no-showed.
I feel bad if people made the trip to see see Lawler, but I don't think it would have been many. It was great that Raschke and Kenny Jay showed up. They are the only peers of The Crusher who went as far as I know.

Edit: Sounds like Lawlers flight was delayed. He was going to try and still make it once he arrived.
