Pro Wrestling Phoenix Presents:
Renegades of Funk
3/18/06
Kirn Junior High
Michael Strider rolled through Corwin Star in the first match of the evening with the Cradle of Death, to continue his amazing undefeated streak in PWP.
Next Sean Cruz & Matty Fitness came out, Matty said to have found a "cool" partner for them, and brought out Donnie Peppercricket - needless to say, Sean was less than impressed. Out came their opponents, The Daniels Brothers and Preston Maxwell. In the end, Sean abandoned Donnie, and forced Matty to do the same, allowing their opponents to pick up the win. Afterwards, Sean laid out Donnie and told Matty "He’s not cool, you’re either with me or against me - now beat his ass!" - Matty then did as his mentor instructed as the two laid out Peppercricket.
Next in a rematch from Panic Attack, Chris Havius, accompanied by Adrenne Rose, battled Tyler Pride. Havius didn't wait for the bell and took out his aggression in a big way, which included an amazing sunset hilo over the top to the floor by the big man. Tyler countered with a huge superplex from the top, a swanton bomb, and a huge t-bone suplex. In the end Pride fell victim to Havius' Chokebreaker, and that was it. The crowd gave Pride a standing ovation for his impressive efforts.
Next was an incredible 3 way dance featuring: Mark Sterling, Babyface, and the returning #1 Brett Young. Young and Sterling seemed intent on topped each others moves, but Babyface countered with a double blockbuster on both men. In the end, Babyface nailed Brett with a modified suplex slam, but seemed to injure his back in the process, allowing Sterling to slide in, and pick up the 3 on Young. After the bout, Babyface & Sterling shook hands and showed their mutual respect for one another.
The proud member of the US Air Force, Mason Hunter, made his PWP debut as he took on "The Rebel" Jeremy Wyatt, along with Steven J. Girthy. This was a very physical and hard-fought match up, but in the end, Wyatt nailed an implant ddt from the top - Hunter managed to get his foot on the rope, but Girthy pushed it off before the ref noticed. After the match, Girthy made the mistake of getting in Hunter's face, and paid the price, ending up on the receiving end of a huge lariat and a t-bone suplex.
Abu Collosus rolled through Domino Rivera, ending things with a full nelson bomb.
Max Magnus then got on the mic, saying that since he wasn't scheduled, he was going to schedule himself - issuing an open challenge to anybody in the locker room. To a HUGE reaction, out came the unstoppable Michael Strider. These two went face to face, but in the end, not even Max Magnus, could beat Strider, falling to the Strider Spiral. What then happened can only be described as CHAOS! Strider and Abu got toe to toe, about to go at it, as the entire locker room emptied to separate the two. Strider went crazy, throwing chairs and trash cans in the ring, and yelled "I will fight you to the death!" The crowd loved every moment as they chanted "LET THEM GO! LET THEM GO!" Its obvious that when these two finally clash, it will be the biggest fight the area has ever seen.
Next up was NWA Mid-West X Division Champion Jaysin Strife taking on "The Passion" Zac James. Those who were in attendance will tell you what an incredible match up this was. These two went hold for hold early on. Later, Strife countered Zac's Megazord combo, and hit his own combo, the Strifecta, followed up by a sickening step-up enziguri. In the end, despite some controversy, Strife picked up the win with a reverse shining wizard. The two men then shook hands and hugged in a huge sign or respect.
In the main event of the evening, Hype Gotti defended his PWP Heavyweight Title against "Showtime" Darrien Sanders. After a long back and forth contest, the referee was caught in the corner, as both men fell into him hard, knocking him down, Hype's partner Babyface then hit the ring, and blasted Showtime with the belt, Hype then locked on an arm lock, as Showtime tapped out, and the bell sounded. Hype thought he had won, but the ref raised Showtime's hand, disqualifying Hype due to Babyface's interference. A groggy Showtime was not happy to say the least, as now 2 months in a row, Babyface has stopped him from becoming PWP champion.
Following this, the challenge was made, and the challenge was accepted........Sat April 15, Hype Gotti, Showtime, PWP Title.........LADDER MATCH!!!!!!
