CAN LORELEI PULL AN UPSET ONCE AGAIN?!

SHIMMER - WOMEN ATHLETES presents its next live DVD taping on Sunday, May 21st, at the Eagles Club (6309 26th Street) in Berwyn, IL, just outside Chicago. Bell time is 3pm Central. All tickets are just $10 and will be available at the door. Volumes 5 & 6 of the SHIMMER DVD series will be filmed during the course of the event.
Another bout has been confirmed for SHIMMER Volume 5, as SHIMMER mainstay and Midwest wrestling star (one half of "The Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew") RAIN will take on relative newcomer to pro wrestling LORELEI LEE. Lorelei earned her spot on the SHIMMER roster earlier this year with a hard fought match against LEXIE FYFE during a SHIMMER Special Attraction match on an event promoted by Full Impact Pro in Orlando, FL during January. In her official SHIMMER debut match on Volume 3, Lorelei upset 19 year veteran of the squared circle MALIA HOSAKA with a quick pinfall. While Lorelei is definitely a competitor to keep an eye on in the SHIMMER ranks, can she overcome RAIN on 5/21 in Berwyn?
Additionally, as announced previously, the following matches are set to take place on 5/21 as part of SHIMMER Volume 5...
Though CHEERLEADER MELISSA and ALLISON DANGER have crossed paths in Ring of Honor Six Woman Mayhem and tag team SHIMMER Special Attraction matches recently, they have yet to face one another in a singles bout. Melissa has established her reputation on the west coast, while also traveling the world gaining additional experience and notoriety, while the bulk of Danger's experience has been in competition for organizations based on the east coast.
Having built her career in Japan, international phenom AMAZING KONG will make her SHIMMER debut against Boston native NIKKI ROXX. Though Kong has a strong title history internationally, Roxx has earned her fair share of championships as well. This could be Nikki's most difficult test thus far in the SHIMMER ranks.
NIKITA, one of the United Kingdom's top prospects, will make her SHIMMER debut on 5/21. She will go up against an ROH mainstay, and one half of the "Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew," LACEY! Nikita has a tough challenge ahead of her, taking on one of the women who main evented the first ever SHIMMER show. This will be a first time ever matchup!
Lacey filmed some comments concerning her impending match against Nikita while at the recent ROH event in Cleveland, OH. Look for it to be online later today (Friday).
There will be a rematch of the main event from SHIMMER Volume 4, which saw DAIZEE HAZE take on Ireland's REBECCA KNOX. They will square off once again on 5/21 in Berwyn for SHIMMER Volume 5, but this time, it will be the best two out of three falls!

The event on 5/21 will also see tag team action, as the popular duo from SHIMMER Volume 2, ARIEL & SHANTELLE TAYLOR, have signed to face the ruthless veteran combination of LEXIE FYFE & MALIA HOSAKA! Fyfe & Hosaka made their presence felt at the 2/12 SHIMMER taping, and plan to continue as a tag team force on 5/21.
SHIMMER Volume 1 featured a hard hitting twenty minute time limit draw between the east coast's "Latina Sensation" MERCEDES MARTINEZ and the west coast's "American Angel" SARA DEL REY. Just as Martinez hit her trademark fisherman buster on Del Rey, the bell rang to signal that the time limit had expired. The fans in attendance gave both women a standing ovation for the effort they put forth during the course of the bout.
SHIMMER Volume 2 saw Martinez and Del Rey do battle with one another once again, in a Four Way Elimination Match that also included DAIZEE HAZE and LACEY. Sara came up the winner of the match, eliminating Daizee Haze to earn the vicotry, but in the process, was not able to score a pinfall or submission on Martinez, as it was Daizee who eliminated Mercedes.
On 5/21 in Berwyn, IL, Sara Del Rey and Mercedes Martinez will step into the ring with one another once again, in the long awaited singles rematch from Volume 1. Since their first match ended in a twenty minute time limit draw, the rematch on 5/21 will be contested with NO TIME LIMIT!
Twenty of the top female athletes from around the world will be a part of what will be SHIMMER's biggest taping to date. For those outside the immediate Chicago area, this one will be worth the trip.
Several more stars have also been confirmed for participation in the 5/21 taping. You will see the return of CINDY ROGERS, AMBER O'NEAL, MsCHIF, and more to be added! Look for more match pairings for Volume 5 to be made official during the coming weeks.
We at the SHIMMER office are ecstatic to announce the addition of former WWE Women's Champion NORA "MOLLY HOLLY" GREENWALD to the list of women athletes appearing at our 5/21 event in Berwyn!
Though Nora has refrained from in-ring competition since her departure from WWE, she looks forward to greeting true fans of women's wrestling on 5/21, and supporting the hard working women in action that night.
Countless members of the SHIMMER roster consider Ms. Greenwald a role model for women in pro wrestling who take the sport seriously, and feel honored to have her present for the festivities on 5/21. Nora will have copies of her shoot interview DVD, as well as additional merchandise available for the fans to purchase at SHIMMER that evening.

Nishio Mika

Well, for all of you who are wondering how I'm doing, I'm fine. But my Zenjo sister Nishio Mika is not. She was injured in a wrestling match yesterday (4/30) and broke her back, injuring her spine. She has undergone an apparent successful operation and should be able to walk after some rehabilitation. Prayers to her and her family. I was the next match on the card and it was very difficult to focus while wondering if she was ok. All of us zenjo-ites were at the hospital immediately following the show. It was a surreal experience and one can only pray for her speedy recovery.

As announced in the 5/7 edition of the Ring of Honor Newswire, a SHIMMER - WOMEN ATHLETES matchup has been added to their big 6/3 event at Sports World (226 Main Street) in East Windsor, CT. Bell time is 7:30pm. Tickets will be available at the door, and are also available in advance at all TicketMaster locations, or via ROH directly.
SARA DEL REY will be making a rare east coast appearance (and her ROH main show debut), taking on DAIZEE HAZE in a rematch from the main event of SHIMMER Volume 3! Also appearing that night for ROH are LACEY and ALLISON DANGER, plus the rest of the ROH crew. Visit
