Just wanted to give a plug for Combat Do Fighting Challenge 7 this Saturday in Cicero. Don't know much about the card but the last one I went to was pretty exciting. You can get more info here. www.combat-do.com/events06.php

Damn! I mention "Mr. International" Shonie Carter in another thread this morning and BAM! I see the guy has a fight this weekend....I'm thinking this might be a good Sat. Night to go check out the fights.

Quick review of this show.
Shonnie Carter (UFC vet) was advertised and was not there. No mention of this at all. My friends and I paid $30.00 at the door to see him fight. He was a no show (If he was booked in the first place) with no mention at all.
The "Hexagon" was on the stage and looked liked it was going collapse.
First fight was not bad.
Second fight..... They introduce the first fighter. He gets in the "hexagon" awaiting his opponent. His whole intro song plays. No opponent. The announcer informs us his opponent is still getting taped up and we're gonna go to the next fight. Then we go into a 10 minute intermission. WOW
Next two fights were terrible. overweight guys with no skills.
Kid from Gilbert Grappling wins a compepitive fight by unanimous decision. Good fight.
Two ladies fought their hearts out. Good fight.
Beers are $5.00 for a can.
We leave at the next intermission and ask the lady at the door what happened to Shonie. She says "who?" Alright good night.
I recommend NEVER going to one of these Combat Do shows EVER. I'm $60.00 in the hole for 10 minutes of being entertained.
Three of the fights I saw were the equilvelent of MMA yarders.
Maybe the rest of the card was awesome but we couldn't sit there anymore.

That sounds like a huge drag and I'm sorry things went down the way they did for those who spent their hard earned $$$ to see a good show. I couldn't find results, but I did find a thread on MMA.TV about a controversial finish to one of the fights last night. www.mma.tv/tuf/index.cfm?FID=1&a=123&TID=0Can anyone who may have been there fill us in on the details? LPJoe maybe?
