SHIMMER - WOMEN ATHLETES returns to live action on Saturday, April 7, 2007 with another huge double DVD taping at the Eagles Club (6309 26th Street) in Berwyn, IL, just outside Chicago. Bell time for the taping is 4pm. Doors will open at 3pm. Volumes 9 & 10 of the SHIMMER DVD series will be filmed during the course of the event! Tickets for the 4/7 taping will go on sale on Saturday, February 17th at the AAW event at the Eagles Club in Berwyn. Tickets will be made available online (via PayPal) beginning on Sunday morning, February 18th. We will also be accepting advance ticket orders by mail at that time. We will be offering a choice of either front row reserved seating (tickets and seats will each be numbered) at $20, or the usual general admission (rows 2 and back) at $15. General admission seating will be on a first come, first served basis, like in the past. The new front row reserved seating option offers not only the benefit of having a front row seat to all the action, but also gives those ticket holders the luxury of not having to be in line early on the day of the show to get the best seat possible. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the event, but those fans with tickets purchased in advance will be admitted before any tickets are sold at the door on the day of the show. Already signed to participate in the Volumes 9 & 10 taping on 4/7 in Berwyn... Amazing Kong "The Jezebel" Eden Black Cheerleader Melissa Allison Danger Serena Deeb Sara Del Rey Lexie Fyfe Daizee Haze Malia Hosaka Jazz Josie Lacey MsChif Amber O'Neal Portia Perez Portuguese Princess Ariel Rain Tiana Ringer Cindy Rogers Nikki Roxx In addition to the talent listed above, Rebecca Bayless makes her SHIMMER debut as the new backstage interviewer on 4/7. Look for more talent to be officially added to the lineup for the 4/7 taping during the coming weeks! Make your plans now to be there LIVE! www.shimmerwrestling.com/

Not for me! CTA + ROH = WIN you're not kidding! i've only been to one local ROH show to date (the Matt Hardy one) because of the lack of car and ROH's late end times. this is some great news to start the year with! as for Shimmer...it would be real cool if they could do the same place as ROH the very next day. once again, better location to get to via CTA than the Eagles Club. i was at the last show there (my first Shimmer show, and i was blown away--had to miss the last few matches due to transportation issues )

We should know what's up with the 9 & 10 taping soon. It'll either be switched to another similarly sized location, or the date will be moved to keep it at the Eagles Club. We really have no intention of taping in a huge venue that would look bad on camera with a crowd of around 200 (the Windy City Fieldhouse is huge).

I got it. Run a uber huge SHIMMER/ROH taping at the fieldhouse in one day. First do 9 & 10, then the ROH preshow with Sugarfoot, then ROH at night. Taping starts at 11 AM.
Too long? Yeah, I guess so.

Umm... did you just refer to ROH's Punk: The Final Chapter as "The Matt Hardy One"? I got it. Run a uber huge SHIMMER/ROH taping at the fieldhouse in one day. REBECCA BAYLESS JOINS SHIMMER ANNOUNCE TEAM ---------------------------------------------------------- We're happy to announce the addition of Rebecca Bayless to the SHIMMER announce team, beginning with Vols. 9 & 10, which will be taped on April 7th in Berwyn, IL! An experienced manager, with a bit of ring time as a wrestler as well, Bayless recently returned to Ring of Honor after a two year absence, in the capacity of backstage interviewer. Rebecca joins SHIMMER in the same role, beginning on 4/7. Below is her latest MySpace blog, posted this morning, describing her return to pro wrestling. Monday, January 29, 2007
Bringing BeckyBack Current mood: sleepy Category: Life
So here's the story...
It all started innocently enough. My lovely wife Allison Danger, who I hadn't seen in a hot minute, invited me to come visit her at ROH's Final Battle 2006. Now really, with how hot Danger has been looking, who's gonna be able to turn down that invitation? My trainer and all-around favorite person Homicide also had a pretty important match that night, which I really wanted to see. Plus I hadn't seen the majority of the roster, much less a wrestling show in two years. Actually, exactly two years almost to the date, since Final Battle 2004 was the last show I was a part of before my car accident. So I went to the Manhattan Center to enjoy the show. I found out that night that Prazak was right, no one ever escapes.
It actually happened during the Homicide/Danielson match. If you were there, you know there's no way to properly convey with words how intense that crowd was. And the match was worthy of that intensity. I got goosebumps. (Corny, I know.) And I was like, "f**k, I miss this." I'd spent the last two years first recovering from a pretty serious car accident, then focusing on graduating college and cultivating a career in the music industry, my other dream. I thought I had my path in life all figured out, and the wrestling industry was no longer a part of it. After that night I wasn't so sure.
I made the mistake of telling Dave Prazak about my feelings on the evening. That conversation resulted in him booking me as backstage interviewer for the Shimmer DVDs. f**kin' Prazak. After a few conversations with Danger, somehow I'm offered the same gig at ROH, and I accept. I'm not gonna throw some "everything happens for a reason" b*llsh*t out here, but opportunities aren't thrown in our laps every day, and here I had two awesome opportunities right in front of me. I'm someone who would much rather try something in life and realize later it was a mistake, than sit and wonder what might have been. I'll never be that person. If you never take a risk, there's no chance to succeed at anything. I've been lucky enough to live my dreams for 24 years with that approach to life, and I have no desire to stop now.
So this weekend was my first back at ROH. I feel like I was never gone (except for the fact I am no longer on drugs or getting dropped on my head on a semi-regular basis). I'll be heading down to NC to spend some time with Allison and Sara Del Rey (who f**k**g RULES, in case you didn't know), who are awesome enough people to offer to both kick my ass in the gym, and get me back in the ring and see if I can't remember a little of what I learned at the doghouse. In all honesty, I don't know if I can or will ever have another match, I have permanant damage to my neck, and that's not really something I want to mess with. Plus let's be serious, women's wrestling is doing just fine without me with all this Shimmering going on, but I'm excited to get in the ring and work out with those two. Who wouldn't be?
Hopefully this answers a few questions, or put you to sleep, one or the other. Don't get used to me blogging, I'm not a fan. I just felt I should say something instead of being all Houdini. I will also say the reaction to my so-called "comeback" has been both flattering and hilarious. Much love CZWfans.com, but for the record, I prefer Q'doba to Arby's. And Adam, don't worry, there'll be a new promo pic for the wall soon.www.shimmerwrestling.com/
