ok it's a bit too soon after my weekend hangover to type anything meaningful but what the hell.
As for Silueta Azul well for once the guy didn't stink up the joint.
Great mixed tag match for the second though I would have preffered a singles ladies match as opposed to the mixed match.
Third match was a little bit too much of the same old same old from previous shows. Not that this was a bad match but how many times can you keep doing the same things over and over again.
The fourth match seemed to be a bit too much on the comedic side for my tastes.
I'd like to say I really enjoyed the final match but too many damned people started to crowd around the aisles and obstructed the view.As long as the wrestlers stayed in the ring I could see what was going on but whenever they got out I couldn't see them. And again the match seemed to play a bit too much on farce and not enough actual wrestling for my tastes. And I wasn't personally impressed with Nacho Libre.I guess he was a last minute replacement when Electroshock didn't show up but I think if they tried a little hard they could have found someone a bit better to take his place. Were Villano III or Blue Panther unavailable?

Well you have a right to your opinion regarding the last two matches, however from what I gathered from the way the majority of the crowd reacted to these two matches is that they loved these two matches.

I've seen my fair share of mixed tag matches, and this was one of the worst I've ever witnessed. And really, there's only one person in the match to blame and that would be Great Cheyenne. She might be a nice girl, but her wrestling needs work. The two guys worked their ass off and Mia did everything she could to try and keep the girl parts watchable, but in the end it seemed like this was Cheyenne's first match, when I know it isn't. She seemed totally lost at points and she nearly paralyzed herself TWICE taking Satellite Head Scissors attempts. Maybe she was intimidated by the large, boisterous crowd, but she really was bad.
Overall, I walked away from the show feeling like $25 was entirely too much to pay for what I saw. 5 matches in 3+ hours? There were stretches between matches that felt longer than any match. But in the end, the place was nearly packed and at those ticket prices, I PROMISE the promoter walked away a wealthy man, and if 800-1000 people are willing to shell out $25 for adults and $10 for kids (and I don't think I saw a group of people smaller than 3 or 4 walk into the place) then the promoter has every right to charge them out the ass.
Unless ticket prices become reasonable, I'll likely not return to another Lucha show at the Congress.

P.S. I looked around for the programs that were mentioned in this thread and found none. When I asked around, people acted as if I was the first to even ask about such a thing. For anyone else planning on attending a Lucha show, these "programs" do not exist.

Ben you were not the only one to ask for a program. I asked several people and they said no such thing existed.
The show itself was not worth $25. I came with two friends who have never been to a lucha show and they were not really satisfied. The first match was rather easy going, didnt seem like TSilueta Azul wanted to do much. The seecond match would have been good if not for one person. The Great Cheyenne is HORRIBLE. I think the other girls name was Mya or Mia, looked very frustrated in the ring several times. I even overheard Alto sware a few times while the girls were in the ring. The Great Maliki has one of the best elbow drops I've seen. Malaki and Alto did a fine job in the ring but the match went to the shits as soon as the girls got it on. The third match was entertaing, Tyme Paige is really becoming something to watchout for. For some reason I dont recall much about the fourth match so i have nothing to say. The main event with La Parka was pretty comedic. La Parka had the crowd in the palm of his hand all night. Overall i gave this show a C.

Uhm I said to ask for FLYERS not PROGRAMS.Big difference. There were indeed flyers for the show available at the front desk when I arrived around 1pm.Perhaps by the time you arrived they were all gone.
