IWA Mid-South will honor the memory of the late great Chris Candido for all his contributions to the company and to wrestling in general by naming our IWA Mid-South tag title tournament in his honor.
The Candido Cup will be held on Friday night May 25th and Saturday night May 26th in Midlothian, Illinois.
Here is the information for that event as it stands:
Candido Cup/IWA Mid-South Tag Team Title Tournament
May 25th and May 26th
Don Preston Recreational Center
14500 Kostner Avenue
Midlothian, IL 60445
2 night 16 team tournament to crown new IWA Mid-South tag team champions after former champions Brain Damage & Deranged had to forfeit the titles due to the retirement of Brain Damage after injuries suffered at the hands of the BMFers.
3 teams have already qualified for this event:
IWA Deep South Tag Champs - Ian Rotten & Mickie Knuckles Former IWA Mid-South tag champs - The Iron Saints
North Star Express (Ryan Cruz & Darin Corbin)
Just announced as receiving an automatic entry into the tournament:
LOW KI and HOMICIDE
A two day pass for the front row will be $70 for this event.

AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! me and my dad are definately comming out to this one, homicide and lowki was enough, hope you can bring in more good teams from around the area, maybe the kings of wrestling, some PWG guys.

From the IWA board:
"Wild Eyed Southern Boy" Tracy Smothers and Ricky Morton will be added to the tournament as both men have called Ian to let him know that they want to be a part of honoring the memory of Chris Candido.
Ian has asked that I let everyone know that he attempted to get the Briscoes for the tournament but they are booked for FIP that weekend and will not be able to do the show.

Tickets for this event will go on sale at the show in Midlothian on February 23rd. A two day pass for the front row will be $70 and all that will be on sale right now.
