Tables Match for the WWA Championship
Tristan Hayze vs. Spike Dudley
At DEVIL'S NIGHT '07, Tristan Hayze requested that he be allowed to defend the WWA Title against his "old friend", Malakim. Seeing as how Tristan himself had been unmasked as Malakim recently, WWA fans were curious to see if Tristan's insistence that he had been simply "filling in" for the masked superstar that night were true.
Unfortunately, Hayze once again attempted to work the system, threatening WWA newcomer Gilbert Lewis into donning the mask. Although Tristan ended up winning the match, his scheme was unraveled, and Melissa Storm was pissed, and promised she would find suitable competition for the champion.
Said competition comes in the form of former WWE and TNA superstar Matt "Spike Dudley" Hyson. A former Hardcore, European, and Cruiserweight champion, Spike is no stranger to high-profile title matches. Adding fuel to the fire, Tristan reportedly demanded the match be a Tables Match, a signature match of Spike's.
What's Tristan's gameplan on March 9th? Will The Urban Freebirds play a role? Will Spike capture the WWA Championship in his specialty match, or will Hayze score the biggest win of his career. On March 9th, all questions will be answered!
Wicked Hardcore Title Match
Mad Man Pondo vs. Mephisto
At DEVIL'S NIGHT '07, WWA fans witnessed one of the most violent, bloody matches of all time in the Halloween Horror Deathmatch that saw Mad Man Pondo capture the Wicked Hardcore Title from Mephisto. The moment he was released from the hospital, however, the former champion demanded a rematch as soon as possible. March 9th is that time.
It's no secret that both superstars are more than willing to put their own bodies at risk if it means destroying their opponents, but who has the highest threshold? How far are these two willing to go to be the Wicked Hardcore Champion? It's an answer WWA fans are both looking forward to and terrified of.
Triple Threat Match for the WWA Tag Team Championship
The Urban Freebirds vs. The Kent Boys vs. The Philadelphia Sex Machines
Since winning the WWA Tag Team Titles at RAPTURE in 2007, Willie Da Bomb and Trauma have run roughshod over the tag division, but on March 9th, they'll face not one, but TWO teams.
Those two teams, The Kent Boys and The PSM, have as much to prove to each other as they do to the champions, as their own feud has been red-hot since their respective debuts. To date, neither team has been able to score a conclusive victory over the other, tensions are high, and now the WWA Tag Team Titles have been added to the mix. A dangerous combination for all three teams, to be sure.
"Four-Man Frenzy" Match for the #1 Contendership to the WWA Championship
Each week a new entry will be revealed for this match on this site.
Angus McDuff
Suffering a shoulder injury at SHOCKWAVE while defending the WWA Title against Kip James, Angus was forced to vacate the title he'd fought so hard to capture. During his recovery and rehab period, WWA's "Fightin' Irish" decided to completely revamp his entire arsenal, focusing on a more shoot-style, mixed martial arts inspired attack.
Upon his return to Wicked Wrestling, fans have noticed a more aggressive streak in the formerly jovial competitor. Will that new attitude be enough to hold of three other title-hungry superstars on March 9th?
Shamus Sly McDuff
In August of 2007, Shamus' inspirational run as WWA Champion was cut short by Tristan Hayze in an Urban Strap Match steeped in controversy. Even more suspicious is the fact that Shamus has still not received a rematch for the championship, leading some to believe that Hayze may be ducking "The Irish Extremist".
Which is why this match is so important for Shamus, as victory will mean a guaranteed title shot at the next WWA show. But as badly as Shamus want to regain the WWA Championship, is he willing to destroy the title hopes of his own brother, Angus?
Chris Hamilton
By virtue of his victory at DEVIL'S NIGHT '07 over WWA veterans Roach and Rion Skillz, Melissa Storm has named Hamilton as an unlikely addition to the Four-Man Frenzy. Since his debut, the youngster has impressed fans and management alike, and his unique style, a throwback to the great Southern brawlers that influenced him, make him a wild card.
This will be Hamilton's first time mixing it up "in the Big Time". Will inexperience or nerves cut his chances short? Or will he be able to shock WWA fans once again and snag the #1 Contendership?
Syn
An institution of Wicked Wrestling since the beginning, Syn status as a former title-holder, as well as his impressive win-loss record, gains him entry as the final competitor in the Four-Man Frenzy. Syn's career was taken off track in mid-2007 due to injuries sustained in a Hardcore Tag Team Match, but since being cleared to return to the ring, "The Sultan of Slither" has been training non-stop in preparation for his homecoming.
Unfortunately, there are three other WWA superstars waiting to welcome Syn back to the ring. At over a decade of decadence, Syn undoubtedly has the edge in experience, but will that ring savvy be cancelled out by the sheer numbers against him? Or will the Master of The Snake-Bite once again rise to the occasion and defy the odds?
Loser Must Eat Dog Food Match
JT Simmons vs. Shnog
The epic feud concludes! This match was reportedly demanded by JT Simmons shortly after being revived after losing the Last Man Sober Match at DEVIL'S NIGHT '07. Ever since debuting against one another, these two have continued to try to one-up the other.
With the word coming down from Melissa Storm that this match would settle things once and for all, you have to believe Simmons and Schnogg will be pulling out all the stops to keep from having a can of Alpo Extra Chunky as a post-match meal!
Tag Partners Face Off
Roach vs. Rion Skillz
Skillz has bewildered WWA fans with his recent outbursts, most directed at his partner, Roach. The hard feelings cumulated in a Skillz-requested Triple Threat Match between himself, Roach, and Chris Hamilton at DEVIL'S NIGHT '07. However, more disagreements between the two gave Hamilton the victory that night.
Reportedly, Roach has now asked for this one-on-one match, with the hopes that he and Skillz can work out their frustrations in the ring, and hopefully regain focus as a tag team.
The Grave Diggers Collide
Botch vs. Machine
One of the best Chicago Tag-teams of the last decade will face off.
With the new year upon us, WWA superstars are ready to start jockeying for position at the top of the card, and a win here for either man will go a long way towards establishing the pecking order, so to speak.
