I know this is a Philly Promotion but i thought i post it anyway.
PWU from the New Alhambra Arena
this is a cut and paste from the PWU site:
Saturday night, it was the fans of PWU who had their pick from the entire locker room as to who they wanted to face…and what matches they picked!
* PWU Owner Tod Gordon made some big announcements for “PWU’s 3rd Anniversary” and for PWU TV with help from Sunny, “New Batman” Johnny Kashmere, & John House
- PWU will debut on Philadelphia area Comcast channel 66 starting Wednesday, September 19 at 8 pm and will also broadcast online.
- “New Batman” Johnny Kashmere will debut his new segment, “The Bat Cave” and sub-titled “The Third Anniversary” event on September 15, “The Diamond Anniversary”, as his special guest will be Diamond Dallas Page!
- Tod Gordon also announced Nikolai Volkof will walk the red carpet on 9/15 and will start “The Diamond Anniversary” singing the national anthem. Also on hand will be MMA and pro wrestling superstar Dan “The Beast” Severn!
* The Thomasellis (Brian, Vito, & Sal) defeated The Hatchet Boyz (Violent J, Corporal Robinson, & 2 Tuff Tony)
In a battle that has brewed over the last four months, this match was picked to see The Hatchet Boyz try to even the score with The Thomasellis. 2 Tuff Tony hit a picture perfect moonsault off the top for what would have been the end for the Thomasellis. But Tony was hit in the back of the head with the new Thomaselli megaphone and found himself on the receiving end of a three count. But The Hatchet Boyz told the Thomasellis the next time they face off, it will be a NO HOLDS BARRED KICK THE THOMASELLIS ASS & SEND ‘EM PACKIN’ MATCH!
* Detox pinned Annie Social with a small package
Annie Social was ready for battle as Detox was selected by the fans as her opponent at PWU on Saturday night. Annie took early control of the match, surprising everyone, especially Detox. Detox was caught off guard by Annie’s offense. But in the end, it was Detox sliding in a small package on Social for the 1-2-3. But after the match, “Pitbull” Gary Wolf, Aramis, & “The Complete” Pete Hunter came out & seemed to offer Annie Social a spot in Team P.I.T. with “Pitbull” Gary Wolf promising that his team would soon see Tag Team AND Women’s gold.
* PWU Tag champions The SAT retained their titles against Bloodline (Gangrel & Billy Blade)
Once they were picked, Gangrel and Billy Blade set their bloodlust on the PWU Tag Team Titles. But the champions SAT were willing to prove that they would do ANYTHING to keep their titles. The power of Bloodline vs. the action packed SAT rocked the house. The SAT set Billy Blade on top of Joel’s shoulders in the middle of the ring while Jose came off of the top turnbuckle for a high impact DDT, covering him for the pin.
* Joey Matthews pinned Z-Barr in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match
In a word…wow. Joey Matthews and Z-Barr tried at first for a completely scientific match up, defying the fan who selected this match up. But ref Finnegan got on the microphone and demanded that the two compete in a REAL T-L-C match or not only would they forfeit their pay for the night, they would be suspended for 90 days. Heading back into the ring, these two killed each other.
* After intermission, “The New Batman” Johnny Kashmere announced “The Diamond Anniversary” on September 15 will feature the first two matches of the TV Title Tournament!
You will see “The King of Diamonds” Eddie Kingston take on Luke Hawx and “Fabulous” John McChesney vs. Z-Barr on 9/15 tear into each other for the start of the PWU TV Title Tournament.
* Team P.I.T. (“The Complete” Pete Hunter & Aramis w/ Annie Social & “Pitbull” Gary Wolf) defeated “Fabulous” John McChesney & “The Southern Stomper” Luke Hawx w/ Sunny
From the start, the self-proclaimed “King of the Three Way Dance” Luke Hawx began to run his mouth, insulting anyone he could along the way. Hawx and McChesney made a formidable force for Team P.I.T. to encounter, especially with outside assistance from Sunny against Team P.I.T. But McChesney got caught in an F5 from Pete Hunter just as Hunter tagged out to Aramis, who then hit The “Fabulous” One with a moonsault for the three count.
* The Bosom Buddies (Teddy Fine & Drew Blood) beat The Best Around (TJ Cannon & Bruce Maxwell). But Cannon & Maxwell once again double teamed Fine after the match
Fans wanted to see The Bosum Buddies and T.B.A. continue to tear each other apart, once again pitting them against each other in tag team action. The fast paced action and intense double team action of The Best Around wasn’t enough for the “Fine”-ly tuned tag team duo of “The Bosom Buddies”. But after their loss, The Best Around tossed Drew Blood out of the ring and double teamed Fine from behind. After hanging him upside down, The Best Around drop kicked Fine with a chair in front of his face.
* For the PWU Women’s Title Amy Lee w/ The Mad Doctor Don Bootz retained against Trent Acid w/ “Discount” Dewey Donovan in a Fall Count Anywhere match
In one of the oddest selected matches of the evening, the PWU Women’s Title was put on the line between champion Amy Lee…and “The International Superstar” Trent Acid. These two tore into each other, even getting chants of “MATCH OF THE YEAR”. The Mad Doctor was difference in this match up, distracting Acid enough that when he went for a sunset flip, Amy Lee was able to use her size to crash down on the chest of Trent Acid to receive a pinfall victory over “The International Superstar”.
* All Money Is Legal defeated Eddie Kingston and Adam Flash after Flash left his partner to fend for himself
An odd couple pairing, Adam Flash was picked to be the tag partner of Eddie Kingston! Seeming to work as a tag team, the fast double team action of All Money Is Legal kept Kingston down. But just as Kingston tried to fire back and tag in his partner, Adam Flash left him high & dry, walking up the ramp and in to the locker room. Kingston without a fresh man found himself pinned for the 1-2-3.
* For the PWU World Heavyweight Title, Too Cold Scorpio retained over Devon Moore. But Devon Moore VICIOUSLY attacked Scorpio after the match, telling the PWU fans to shut up
This awesome match up was perfectly picked by the PWU fans. The action was so intense, the ring couldn’t hold them. Literally battling from one side of the Arena to the other, these two men laid into each other. These men battled back and forth with high flying action, technical ability, and hard hitting brawling. After a perfectly targeted, powerful leg drop from the top rope by Scorpio, he made the cover on Moore to retain his title. After the match, Scorpio raised Moore’s hand in a sign of sportsmanship and respect. But Devon Moore turned around & nailed Scorpio, laying him out. He then used the microphone to beat Scorpio’s head in. Moore left an unconscious Scorpio in the ringside area, while he shouted to the fans to “shut up”. Moore showed a new side of himself that I’m sure Too Cold Scorpio will want the chance to shove back down his throat!
