Let me start out by saying the turn out was prettty good i think. Audience members included; C.Red, Dymond, Tristan Hayze, and I think Jay Jensen. Not as many people as I woulda thought reppin ChiPro
I was taking notes, so I hope they were good enough
Show starts out with Lamar Titan cutting a slightly Ultimate Warrior-ish promo. There were a few very entertaining insults toward the heckling crowd and a funny rambling about a gasoline soaked truck on his "glory road"
Abaddon enters and gets the crowd behind him by claiming that Orland Park is "Nightbreed Country" and starting a "Lamar Sucks" Chant
Lamar Titan vs Abaddon
-Starts with Titan getting over on Abaddon with a little chain wrestling and a Northern Light Suplex for an early 2 count. Abaddon gets over on Titan with a little chain and finishes with what i can only think to call a crucifix bulldog (Titan in an almost crucifix position on abaddon's back and swung into the bulldog)... 2count. Abaddon slams Titan around and Titan bails, picks up his nunchucks and walks to the back. Abaddon goes after him, Titan is tossed back out through the curtain.
- Titan takes over. Knocks Abaddon around a little. Titan goes for a wheel barrel and is face planted and covered for the 2. Titan takes back over. Starts to work the arm. Goes for a Hurricanrana and gets powerbombed into the turnbuckles. Titan takes back over. Ref gets distracted, Titan chokes Abaddon with his 'chucks. Titan botches a springover roll up. Titan pulls of a nice flying european uppercut and hits Abaddon with his Centaur Kick (Rushing Flying Boot). Goes up top and misses a nice 450 splash.
-Both men down. They work up, Abaddon gets the upperhand and hits a powerslam...2 count. Titan counters something and hits a gearshift neckbreaker... 2 count. Abaddon hits a reverse suplex lift sideslam 2 count. Titan hits a nice little martial arts combo finishing with an inseguri... 2 count. Titan goes up for a moonsault, Abaddon moves, titan lands on his feet, Abaddon hits his finisher (Backdrop spin into a sambo slam) for the 3.
Winner: Abbadon by pinfall
rating;7/10
Preachin' with Frankie Valiant
Frankie comes out in his preacher garb and is fairly entertaining in a southern drawl. Calls the kids demons and even "heals" one kid. He seems to be building up to introducing Johnny Wild. (side note: Johnny is, or used to be, Barney Stone of the Danny Boys). Johnny cuts a promo talking about how he can recognize talent. He explains why he's here at VWAA. Reason #1; he's rich, and rich people do what they want. Reason #2, his ability to tell who's "got it" Calls out anyone in the back to give them a lesson in wrestling.
Johnny Wild vs Rookie
Frankie distracts the ref. Johnny does a lil strecthing. Shakes the kids hand and hits him with an "international object", which he stuff back into his pants, and applies a camel clutch for a quick win
Winner: Johnny Wild by KO
rating: 2/10 it was short but sweet
Team KO (Amazing Kuan & Ovirload) vs The Furies (Mitch Blake & Ricky Walsh w/Alpha Bitz)
Team KO has a different look. I like it. Black men in masks. It's good to see Mitch Blake up an about. I heard that last week Mitch dropped the WCPW BareKnux title to a returning Mike Anthony. Thats a shame considering Mitch would have made a hell of a BK champ but he loses in his first defense.
- Furies jump KO. KO reverses a whip, knock both Furies down. Ovirload hits a very flashy springing armdrag on Blake. Kuan goes for a moonsault, Walsh moves, Kuan Lands on his feet. Shades of the Titan match as Walsh gets the upper hand, though slightly more impressive considering Kuans size.
- Furies beat on Kuan. Lots of chops, slams, and elbow/leg drops. Furies do the old assisted abdominal stretch trick. They keep knocking Ovirload off the apron but he doesn't come in. A few short comebacks by Kuan. Walsh and Kuan bump heads
- Ovirload tagged in. Knockdowns. Throws Rick into Blake in the corner. Ovirload rushes the corner, Blake falls out of the way so O lands ribs first on the turnbuckle and tumbles out. Furies Grab Kuan and hit the Grand Slam (Double Team Alabama Slam) for the Win
Winners: The Furies
rating: 4/10 not a bad match, but pretty onesided and Mitch was the only one working the crowd
This is the match I was looking most forward to
Isaias Velazquez vs Baltazar w/Lilith
-Isaias hits a crossbody on the outside while Balt is entering. Tries to whip Balt into the corner but is powerpressed into the ring. Balt rushes into a drop toe hold. Isaias is powered onto the turnbuckle. Balt turns his attention and gets missle dropkicked. IV hits a few clotheslines which dont affect the bigman. He catches Balt offguard with a spinning roundhouse. Balt goes out and says he doesnt hurt Elderly or Midgets, but in this case, he'll make an acception.
- Balt rushes into another drop toe hold, but he doesnt fall. IV is trying hard to pull the big man down again, hes booted and knocked around. Balt hits a Powerslam. Chokes IV on the ropes. The ref is warning Balt that he WILL DQ Balt. The crowd is adamant about getting a new ref. The Big Man continues to control the match. Big Pancake press. The ref becomes frustrated and begins to admonish the crowd. Big knees and a butterfly suplex slam. Whip into the corner, IV springs over onto Balts shoulder. Balt rushes for an Oklahoma slam and the ref gets caught in between and is knocked out. Balt finishes rushing IV to each corner and hits the slam. He goes out and gets the ref. The ref gets his bearings back and calls for the bell.
- IV is given the win by DQ. Balt lays out the ref and hits the Sacrifice (Double handed sitout chokeslam) on IV out of frustration.
The match was shorter and more onesided than I had hoped. Lets hope for a rematch in the near future so we can see a proper big-man/little-man match.
Winner: Isaias Velazquez by DQ
rating: 6/10 good for what it was, expected much more from these 2
JJ "Studd Muffin" Valiant Comes out and introduces C. Red and Dymond. They seem to be carrying the UAPW title. Will we see the UAPW strap in VWAA? Red complains that at the last show Trauma was screwed by Steve Boz. Also, The Soul Touchaz (Willie Da Bomb & Marshe Rockett) had beat their opponent from pillar to post. Red believes they should be in the VWAA Tag Team Title Tourney. Studd allows it. So the Soul Touchaz are the first Team in the VWAA TTTT in Crown Point, IN on Oct 13th.
Juggalo J-City & Frankie Valiant w/ JJ "Studd Muffin" Valiant vs Vigilante & Micheal "The Valiant's Gardener" Lopez
-Vigilante chains on JCity and finishes with a Botched head scissors and a "Perfect" flip over neck snap. Lopez tagged in and works J-City over. Sorry, I wasnt paying too close attention to this match.
- Frank comes in and takes over on Lopez. They work on the gardener for a bit. Frankie rocks himself by headbutting Lopez. Both fall. The ref starts the 10 count. The fans are solidly behind Lopez.
Vigilante takes JCity and they brawl out of the building. Studd hits Lopez with his cane, Frankie hits an avalanche in the corner for the win
Winners: Juggalo J-City (Who was stuffed into a garbage can) & Frankie Valiant by pinfall
rating; ? didnt really watch it. It wouldnt be fair to rate on what i did see
Toughman Challenge (Circuit Title Qualifier)
Diego Corleone vs The Machine vs Atlas vs Ivan Manson
-Diego was hilarious tonight. I assume he was working face, because he wasn't being crazy. Machine scared the crap out of the kids.
- Power trade off between all 4 men. Machine takes over on Diego and begins to order a Cheese, onion, and pickle pizza from Corleone. Not much detail for this match, it was a lot of big hits.
- Shoving match between the 4. Atlas and Diego take over and hit 10 punches and a train wreck. Diego is rolled up by Machine, Machine is Rolled up by Manson, Manson is rolled up by Atlas. I'm sorry to say, what a cheap way to end a Toughman Challenge.
Winner: Atlas by Pinfall
rating: 2/10 nothing like i expected a toughman match to be and weak finish by all 4
Studd comes out and his interruption of the argument amongst the 4 prompts the to yell at him in unison. It was quite funny. He starts the battle royal
Circuit title battle royal qualifier
I dont know why Atlas was involved in this considering he just solidifed his position in the Circuit spot. But it came down to him and Baltazar. Balt boots Atlas out for what I believe was Balts first ever BR win!
Winner: BALTAZAR
rating: 7/10 entertaining but it WAS a battle royal. Extra points for Balt winning his first BR
Afterward, it looked like Atlas and Balt had gotten into it for real. They were both trying to punk eachother out. Atlas got his chair, was cut off by Balt and nailed 3 times with his own chair before he fell. When everything was said and done, Atlas was sitting on the apron sobbing like his family left him home while they went to the zoo.
