WHOA, so why exactly did Chuman cut the NWA ties? I don't get it,is that legit? The only reason I remember Ian giving was when he addressed Quackenbush after his match with Abercrombie and said, "Thanks to that little stunt you just pulled, Ed Chuman just cut all ties with the NWA and IWA-MS." Apparently from what I am being told, is that Quack shoved past Chuman on the way out to the ring to go wrestle again. Then Chuman got in Ian's face, cut ties, and then went home red-faced cussing about having no respect for the business... Jeez, if you're so worried about your NWA Light-Heavyweight Champion, wouldn't you stick around to make sure that he does make it through the night???

I wonder if this means Quack is not going to Japan.
That would be a shame!
From MikeQuakenbush.com
"I want to thank everyone who has written me these last few days, since my win at the 2007 Ted Petty Invitational. Your outpouring of support and concern is truly overwhelming. I wanted to put out an update as soon as I possibly could to let everyone know how I'm doing. "In my first match of Night 2 at the TPI, I came up a little short on a tope, and the result was a crash landing on the floor. To say it knocked me for a loop is probably an understatement. I've had my share of concussions over the years, and especially in light of recent circumstances that cast a dark shadow over the sport of professional wrestling, attention to these types of injuries is of paramount importance. About 45 minutes after the conclusion of that match, my vision was clear, I could remember the entire match I had wrestled, and I wanted to go on. The only real problem at that point was that an announcement had been made, at the direction of Ed Chuman (NWA rep), telling the fans that I would forfeit the impending match to Josh Abercrombie. "As you already know, I went on to finish, and even win the Ted Petty Invitational that night. In doing so, I took quite a bit of abuse, especially in the finals, where I was treated to, among other things, the Ricola Bomb, two enzuigiris, a brainbuster and the Omega Driver, just to name a few. I took a chance, as all wrestlers do every night they step in the ring, and luckily, I came out on top. But the sacrifices I made that night came with a bill I must now pay. At my doctor's advice, I will be on the sidelines for a little while, but I am optimistic that I will be cleared to return to action in as expedient a fashion as possible."

If Mike would have listened to somebody, he might not have to take time off and potentially miss out on his dream of going to Japan. I hope that Mike makes a full recovery and doesn't rush back too soon.

I have things to say about these issues, but I'm reviewing my stand with the NWA, and our lawyers before I comment further on IWA Mid South, and our decision to sever ties with this promotion.

Yeah, I saw that dive from Quack's right side, third row. Looked bad from that angle. Looks even worse here. I'm glad he's not crippled.
As for the NWA vs. IWA "feud," I didn't see Chuman or his NWA gimmicks at either show during TPI weekend, so I can't say for sure he wasn't there. I'm not sure what type of insurance was in play here, or how Chuman and the NWA would be liable if Quack suffered furthered injury, as the NWA World Jr. Champ, but I'm no expert on that sort of thing. Promoters usually put up insurance when booking a building to cover damages and crowd injuries, or something like that. Wrestler injuries, too? I can't say, but I doubt it.
So until somebody involved explains what exactly went on, I say WORK.
