Remember, remember the 9th of November. The Orland Park Civic Center and VWAA fans witnessed contract singings, severe beatings and the crowning of the first VWAA tag team champions.
The show opened with “The Unholy One,” Baltazar speaking his mind on many different issues in his life which all revolved around betrayal. He feels betrayed by his former tag-team partner Abaddon who left him standing in the cold after Nightbreed’s loss to Titan and TS at the Knights of Columbus show. He then went on to browbeat Studd Muffin about the unfair treatment he has since been given after the abandonment of Abaddon. Studd Muffin came out to defend his own actions and decisions and the two fell into a heated argument with threats flying from both parties. Baltazar then demanded a match to which Studd Muffin finally consented to, with a few “minor” stipulations.
MATCH # 1 Semi-Final round of the VWAA tag team tournament. LAMAR TITAN & TS THOMAS SINCLAIR – VS – THE FURIES: Titan & TS won a wildcard match for their placement in the tournament whereas The Furies were the #1 seated team after defeating Team KO for their spot. The brutality displayed by The Furies proved that they wanted the straps, but the resilience of TS & Titan made their road to the titles very rough. When the smoke cleared after these teams collided, The Furies stood victorious and advanced to the final round of the tournament.
MATCH #2 Semi-Final round of the VWAA tag team tournament. THE SOUL TOUCHAZ – VS – TEAM KO: The attack that Team KO suffered at the hands of The Vanguard VIP Family on 10-27 at Industrial Studio played a major role in their loss to The Soul Touchaz. Team KO showed every VWAA fan exactly what they were made of. They ignored their doctor’s orders to stay out of the ring & the tournament and stood face to face against their end boss. Unfortunately, their injuries were too great and The Soul Touchaz took advantage early on and quickly defeated the increasingly popular Team KO.
Studd Muffin appeared once again, but this time with a contract in hand. He announced that at the 12-15-07 show in Calumet City that The Urban Jewel, Dymond, would in fact defend her VWAA Women’s championship. The challenger, Kimberly Cash. Dymond and Cash exchanged stiff words, and then both signed their contracts. Cash quickly learned that her opponent doesn’t plan on taking her lightly. Dymond attacked Cash from behind and quickly exited the ring.
MATCH #3 THE MACHINE – VS – MAD DOG IVAN MANSON: These two men have never had a clean and decisive match between them. Their first match was decided no contest. Their second meeting was at the Tough-Man Challenge where Atlas won the match. Their third meet was for The VWAA Hardcore Kingship, but interference from Squanto took Machine out of the VWAA arena. This meeting ended with Ivan Manson getting a fast school-boy pin on Machine after yet another interference from Squanto.
“Preachin” with Frankie V. Frankie V graced the VWAA fans with his presence and his inspiring word. He even had time to bring a fan into the ring and “heal” them of their heathen way. Frankie’s guest was none other than Windy City’s very own Sal DiNero. Sal talked about his plans for the GYMW and what every fan should expect to see in the near future and that the grass is brown on the other side of the GYMW fence. He then talked about his 10 children, nine of which are named Giuseppe, but his favorite child will always be his first, Sally. It seems we should all expect to see the Giuseppe’s in the ring some time soon. Sal then unveiled his own championship title. He told Frankie personally that it was one of 30 GYMW titles, but that this was the most important. It was the GYMW Heavyweight Title. (A back brace with athletic tape and writing on it.) Sal said he’d finally collected enough “dues” to afford it. DiNero then exited the arena to his favorite theme music, “I’ll Sue ya.”
MATCH #4 JORDAN PRYDE – VS – AKUMA This was supposed to be a special “Super Hero” match with Ben Cruise against Jordan Pryde, but Johnny Wild informed Pryde, as well as the fans, that Cruise was unable to fulfill his commitment to the match due to a head-cold that caused a major case of “the sniffles.” Therefore, Akuma would be taking Ben Cruise’s place in the match. The crowd was infuriated with Johnny Wild and taunted him at any chance. Jordan was the clear fan favorite of the night and had massive support of the VWAA fans; however, Johnny Wild’s constant interference led Akuma to victory.
MATCH #5 BALTAZAR – VS – BACKWOODS BROWN & SQUANTO in a 2 on 1 handicapped match. Studd Muffin rummaged through the VWAA locker room and got his hands on Backwoods & Squanto and forced them to team together against Baltazar. The odd-team worked well for a few minutes, beating Baltazar down with punishing move after move, but once Baltazar began a formable comeback, Backwoods left Squanto alone in the ring and angrily left the building. Squanto then proceeded to take on an immense and brutal thrashing from Baltazar. To his credit, Squanto refused to give up and repeatedly kicked out of Baltazar’s pin attempts. The brutality finally ended and Baltazar stood, unsurprisingly, victorious.
MATCH #6 The VWAA Tag Team Tournament Final. THE SOUL TOUCHAZ – VS – THE FURIES The Soul Touchaz were fresh for this match after having defeated the injured team of Team KO and took control of the match early on rarely letting The Furies have a chance to regroup. Rick Walsh took the brunt of the Touchaz’ onslaught and barely kicked out of many of their tag team maneuvers. It was time to wear Walsh out. Willie Richardson laid the submission holds on #72 while Marshe’ hit many of his high-flying moves. When these attempts failed to take “The Closer” out, the action was thrown out to the floor where Trauma & Dameon Dunn were waiting with their freshly bought front row seat purchases. When the action was taken back to the ring, Walsh was finally able to tag out to Mitch Blake. All four men battled in the ring, but The Furies gained a quick upper hand which led them to the pin on Willie Richardson to win the VWAA Tag Team Championship. The VWAA fans erupted and rushed into the ring to celebrate with The Furies.
