Fire Pro Wrestling presents: BANE’S PRIDE 2008
-show starts off with all 8 wrestlers in the tournament coming out into the ring and getting their picture taken. Then, the rest of the locker-room funneled out and stood outside the ring as the 10-bell salute to Ward took place. During this time, we were honored to have Ward’s mother and father there to present the Banes PRIDE.
1. Bane’s PRIDE 1st Round Match-Up: Christopher Kent def. “Luscious” Louis Linaris
-During the match, a man in glasses and a suit came out to ringside to watch both athletes wrestle. Christopher Kent was a little put off, but remained focused in picking up the win.
2. Bane’s PRIDE 1st Round Match-Up: PT Hustla w/ Lester Mitchell def. “Da Juggernaught” Osyris w/ Jungle Jane
-Great match in which it PT Hustla was able to pull one over Osyris. However, after the match, Osyris labeled PT Hustla and hit a swanton off the top rope (almost imbedding PT Hustla in the mat).
3. Bane’s PRIDE 1st Round Match-Up: “the Regulator” Tristin Hayze vs Chase “the Face” Richards
-This match never got started as when Chase came out, Hayze had played a DVD from our October show in which Chase cut a promo threatening to “kill Tristin Hayze.” Hayze had gone and got a restraining order and there was a policeman on hand that arrested Chase Richards. Chase was taken away, thus he was not able to compete any longer in the tournament, moving Tristin Hayze into the semi-finals.
Double J then at this time introduced Fire Pro Wrestling’s newest graduate from the Fire Pro Academy, “Stonehands” Slater Wallace. While Double J was talking with him, “Roughneck” Jay Ryan came out and “officially” welcomed him to the wrestling business. Roughneck got out his bullrope and began choking him, which led to “Diehard” Steve Szoke making the rescue. Szoke told Roughneck that if he comes against one of his students, he’s coming against him. The match was then set for later that night, “Roughneck” Jay Ryan vs “Diehard” Steve Szoke.
4. Bane’s PRIDE 1st Round Match-Up: “Youngblood” Hayden Kent def. Syn
-As Double J was preparing to announce the next match (the Last Man Standing Battle Royal), “Handsome” Kenny Courageous + Hoss came to the ring. Kenny told Hoss that even though they are supposed to have a Tag Team Title shot later on in the night, his services were no longer required. Kenny guaranteed that he would in the Tag Team Titles by himself.
5. Last Man Standing Battle Royal:
-The last 5 contestants were Machine, the Crusader, Angus McDuff, Carl Morris and Gilbert Lewis. It came down to Gilbert and Machine in the end. Machine had been taking a lot as he was clearly a target to get out of the battle royal. In the end, Syn came out and helped Machine score the victory. Syn continues to add members to his group, and with the addition of Machine, things are looking very promising for him.
Before going into intermission, Risk Factor came out and brought Jackie Cooper (a 10 year old boy suffering from a rare bone cancer) into the ring. The rest of Jackie’s family and the rest of the Fire Pro Heroes came out and showed their support to Jackie. Tonight’s concessions were donated to Jackie and his mounting medical bills.
6. Bane’s PRIDE Semi-Finals Match: Christopher Kent def. PT Hustla w/ Lester Mitchell
-Once again, the man in glasses and a suit came out to watch the match. It was apparent this time that he was taking note in Christopher Kent.
7. Bane’s PRIDE Semi-Finals Match: “Youngblood” Hayden Kent def. “the Regulator” Tristin Hayze
-A fresh Tristin Hayze really put out a lot of punishment on Hayden Kent. In the end, however, Burke came out and informed Hayze that he was sending someone to bail Chase Richards out. He also told Hayze that since he escalated things, Burke asked Chase what he wanted to do. Chase told Burke that he wanted to schedule a Steel Cage match between him and Tristin Hayze to finish this in the next couple months. Burke told Hayze that he agreed to it and Fire Pro will sanction it. Hayze, completely distraught was easy prey for Hayden to roll him up from behind for the win.
8. Fire Pro Tag Team Title Match: The newest of the New Techno Breed 2000 (“Handsome” Kenny Courageous by himself) def. Risk Factor (Roach + Jynx)
-before the match starts Burke informed the crowd that he’s tired of Kenny’s constant rule-breaking and he has assigned a special guest referee for this match….Devon Fury. Unfortunately, Kenny Courageous was prepared for this. At the end of the match, Kenny went to get a chair to hit Roach with it. Devon grabbed the chair from Kenny’s hands and it looked like he was going to hit Kenny. Instead, he labeled Roach in the head with the chair. Jynx came in to try and make the save, but Jynx got hit in the back with the chair and then both Kenny and Devon delivered a spiked piledriver on Jynx. Kenny made the cover and Devon made the count. Kenny gave the other Tag Title to Devon, officially reunited New Breed and putting them back on top of the Tag Team Division.
9. Fire Pro Heavyweight Title Match: “Diehard” Steve Szoke def. “Roughneck” Jay Ryan via DQ
-Roughneck was cost the victory when he closelined Szoke with the bull-rope.
10. Bane’s PRIDE Finals Title Match: “Youngblood” Hayden Kent def. Christopher Kent to become the new PRIDE Champion
-Again, the man in glasses and suit came out to ringside to watch the match and stayed there. Great match with brother vs brother going back and forth. In the end, Hayden was able to counter a cruicifix roll up for the win. After the match, Hayden tried shaking hands with Christopher, but Christopher refused. Szoke came out and got in the ring and told Christopher to shake his hand. That they had talked about this in the back and they both agreed that no matter what happened, they would still leave as brothers. Christopher Kent then yelled “Screw you, Steve Szoke.” He then continued on to berate the fans and telling them “screw you.” He then looked at his brother and spit right in his face. Christopher got out of the ring and the man in glasses was waiting for him and helped escort him to the back.
