4) Jason Hades d. Chuck Taylor to win the IWA-MS Light-Heavyweight title
5) Sami Callihan d. Dingo
6) The Naptown Dragons (Scotty Vortekz, Die Hard & xOMGx) & Ricochet d. Fire Ant, Hydra, Jimmy Olsen & Vin Gerard
INT

9) C.J. Otis d. Deranged
10) Corporal Robinson d. Danny Demanto
11) Corporal Robinson d. Jimmy Shallwin
12) Mickie Knuckles, Josh Abercrombie & Devon Moore d. BLK OUT (2 Cold Scorpio, Joker & Ruckus) to win the IWA-MS Tag Team titles
13) Jacobs d. Whitmer
Yep, this was a tremendous show. Far exceeded 500th in terms of in-ring, as far as im concerned. Crowd was pretty good too from what I could tell. Complete guess, but Id put it at 220-230 maybe? ANd pretty fired up, although burned out a little as the show approached HOUR 6.
Chuck Smooth came out to little reaction, and proceeded to insult every member of the audience individually. I dont know how much of the crowd knew the history, but for the long timers this was unexpected and a lot of fun.
Ego's getting a lot of credit for the opener, as deserved, but Jason Quick was with him every step of the way.
Some folks thought Brodie Lee and Viking was a little too short, but I thought short and intense was EXACTLY right for this match.
Up in Smoke were awesome, as usual. Crowd didnt seem to know em as well, but some excellent double team stuff from all these guys. Strife turned on Walters, and speared him into next week. If not for getting tangled in the ropes, there would have been a Walters-shaped hole in the wall of the Rec Center.
At this point it was clear this was going to be one hell of a night.
Jason Hades over Chuck Taylor to win the IWA-MS Light-Heavyweight title. ANOTHER really, really, really good match.
I was curious how they were going to manage the kingston/reyes thing. No idea if the Scorp turn was the original plan or a result of the shuffle, but either way, it worked.
Sami Callihan d. Dingo. Dingo continues to be over. I missed the end of the match due to the call of nature, but this ended up interesting as post match Dingo was on the floor of the restroom badly hurt and/or freaking out over something - that something apparently his right eye. Scary.
The Scotty Vortekz, Die Hard,xOMGx & Ricochet d. Fire Ant, Hydra, Jimmy Olsen & Vin Gerard. I LOVED this. I had to have the Vin Gerard thing explained to me, and I assume other did as well, which took away from the match a little if you didnt know any chikara fans sitting around you, but this started off with 5 minutes of Ant and Richochet that was AWESOME. Richochet really excels in this multi-man matches, and this was the best ive seen him look in a while. Afterward, Vin Gerard continued to lay prone in the ring throughout the ENTIRE intermission. People were having their picture taken with the lifeless body. This was awesome.
Michael Elgin d. Toby Klein and Tank to retain the IWA-MS Strong Style title. Hard hitting (whats new there?) and different from everything before it, so guess what? ANOTHER fun match. I am nt a fan of Billy Gram. Just dont get the "face manager" dynamic, and Toby does NOT need anyone to help him get over. I just dont see the need for him, and all he does is take attention AWAY from the ring.
Ash d. Sexxxy Eddy, Christian Able and Brian Skyline - with the Chuck Smooth pairing, you had to figure Ash was going over, but this was also chaotic and everyone was really on their game. Skyline hit a thru the ropes tope onto Able, who caught him, but did so high on his body. They BOTH went back about 5 rows with Skyline riding him the whole. Quite a visual, and kudos to Able for protecting him.
Speaking of chaos, C.J. Otis d. Deranged was the first match to really wander the crowd. Sick chairshots in this one. CJ is not popular with the crowd - partially because Deranged is OVER I guess - but he is solid, and between this and the Barbed Wire Madness match with Drake, its not like he ever half asses it in there.
Post match shenanigans with Corporal Robinson and Danny Demanto and Hype Jimmy Shalwin. Based on the show length, im glad they didnt try to put these 2 in serious matches.
Mickie Knuckles, Josh Abercrombie & Devon Moore d. BLK OUT. Whatever the reason behind it, heel Scorp is a good idea, and worked well. Didnt have the slow build that Scorp matches often do. Mickie and Ruckus is NOT over yet based on the post match.
Whitmer and Jacobs really put on a show. Match stated with BLKOUT attacking Ian and hanging him by his necktie, and lots of chaos. Fannin was taken out, limiting his interference in the match later on.
I know these guys are pros, and I know they know how to work, but man, the unredictable nature of the wire really makes this uncomfortable (and yeah, exciting) to watch. They both put on the barbed wire crown of thorns, and did all the sick spots you'd expect. JJ gave the speech afterwards about the belt thing (its the IWA version of the Montreal screwjob), claiming he's tried to redeem himself by busting his ass in the ring (editorial comment - this is true. I've often made the point that Jacobs always, always, always left it all out there in IWA) and now he wants the title back to cement his legacy.
As noted, Vito, Chuck, and HERO are the first entrants in the title tourney for May 3.
