ROH House Show Results 4.19.08: Chicago Ridge

I don't remember anyone saying anything about pregnancy. I do remember Jacobs coming out and crying like 15 times.
I've gotta say, for a ROH show I normally have high expectations. But this whole night was fairly disappointing.

Danny Daniels match was terrible. idk who messed what up, but no one saved it.

This is the second time I've seen Austin Aries open the show. Why? He should be fighting the top guys. Silas did nothing for me this time around.

I don't care about anything Jacobs has to say though I liked that ROH was doing stables, though now its down to AOTF, which is full of cripples and idiots. We get it, you're all individuals. But any group with Jacobs crying, zack gowen wrestling, and Necrobutcher...breathing needs to be put to rest. I can't wait til Morishima kills Necro

The ladies match hurt to watch. I like the shimmer girls, but this wasn't anywhere near what past ladies matches have been.

Hero's another one that does nothing for me.

I love Adam Pearce on the mic(sadly he didnt cut a promo, but his in ring stuff is still entertaining), Brent tossing ppl and claudio being claudio. This was one of the better matches of the night with Claudio teaming with Pelle(I'm assuming so Brent can toss to max capacity). I'm glad Whitmer is gone cause he sucks. I don't understand why Sweeny is with them when they have Pearce to talk.

Ibushi/Generico being billed as a dream match was overhype. I'm not big on Generico, but he had some good moments. First time seeing Ibushi blew me away. Some great moves and spots pulled off, including Ibushi doing a Toprope moonsault doublestomp straight into a standing moonsault. Match of the night candidate.I think Aries/Ibushi would have been 1000x better.

The Briscoes vs MCMG was less than most expected. They did some good stuff, but there was no fire behind any of it like the first one. They seemed like they were just going through the motions. Still match of the night candidate, but nowhere near as good as the first.I'm betting on MCMG vs Briscoes 3 for the titles (on a whim, 2 out of 3 falls) when the Machine Guns TNA contracts run out.

The six man between AOTF and the Vulture squad was ok. Nothing really big to comment on here

The main event between Nigel and Steen seemed ill-built. No one seemed to know how to react to Nigel as heel and Steen as face. This matchs atmosphere probably would have been better had Nigel stayed face and Steen Heel. Stiff.

Did you find it very odd that on the flyer for the next show they sort of pumped it up that it was family friendly basically saying that it would be tamer then a WWE show generally is? Then they have the angle with Lacey sleeping with Aries on the same show?

And it's not like they're brother and sister.
