Opening match was a lot of fun ( a theme, here) and had some good wrestling, as Doctor Heresy took on Shane Sharpe. The Doc was up to his usual tricks, but the young Sharpe stayed w it. One point, Doc was tossed on the floor, and he utters "Son of a Biscuit" haha. In the end, Sharpe won this matchup w a back cracker.
Frankie Arion, (at 400 lbs ..haha) took on Justin Shaype. Lots of funny banter, and then the match took off. Excellent contest w a lot of near falls and fun. Shaype took the win w a Northern Lights suplex into a bridge.
Tarzan Taylor w his manager (HELP?) who was called Akbar..hehe. took on Tony Star. This looked like it would be a squash, but Star fought back.. Competetive again, was won by Taylor w a choke slam.
Panther Martin w Steven Marriott took on Sethoren w Vanity Vixen (in a red outfit..that was on fire..heehe)Battle of power here, went back and forth. In the end, Marriott climbed up, but was run into by his own man, Sethoren then schoolboyed him for the win. Post match tho, Panther attacked Seth.
The Tag titles saw Chunky but Funky challenge the Pleasures of Pain w Joey Eastman. Mav and Master Flesh came out w SNAKES ..that SICKO Wild was even kissing the snake a bit..yech. Joey Eastman, who was fantastic in the pre match promo, wanted it to be Arm Wrestling.A few minutes of that took place at these single seat. "commentating booths" (you had to see this..) w Mr Nox even officiating one. Eventually, the match got going, and was a typical CBF match, w DJ taking most of the bumps. Sonny g ot in and seemed to have things under control, but the champs goaded them into a fight, and the match was a double countout.
Joey Eastman was caugh and throw back in the ring and given a double slam on his butt. and ummm..tho I think it was a work..hehe. he appeard to have pooped himself. You had to be there, for that rather disturbing and yet funny moment.
Intermisson. w autos and stuff w CBF,. Tony Star, Shane Sharpe and others.
Bonus match, saw Frankie Arion return to meet Shane Sharpe. Cranky Franky was not a happy camper tonight, as the fans were not behind him, and his muscels he kept showing off. This one was a clinic, as the fans appreciated it w very hearty applause. Frankie got a cheap win w his feet on the ropes tho..So, each man went 1-1 for the night.
Tag team action saw Johnny Vegas and Steven Marriott w Eastman, take on the Alternate Warrior and the Link. Basically comedy, w the Vegas/Eastman team taking the win. Good banter by Johnny, also link eating a hot dog on the floor as his partner was getting beat was hilarious.
Was great seeing one of my favorites, Johnny Vegas, tho like he told me. what do I do in this match? It was That kinda affair..hehe.
Main event time. for the EWA Title. Kid Mikaze came in to defend vs FRW Granite State Champ, Heart Attack Tommy Mack. We figured this would be good, and it was. My favorite match so far in April. FRW HW champ Christian Angers was in the corner of Mack, which was shady, as him and Mack are feuding. Angers couldnt be trusted at all, and eventually was thrown out. This match was simply excellent, MOTN of course, w both men, giving it their all, after bout 8-9 fairly technical minutes, it exploded. In the end, after maybe 12 two counts, Mack got a chair. He was gonna use it, but the fans, refs and his conscience stopped him, from using it, and ruining a great match. His indecision cost him tho, as Mikaze hit a schoolboy for a quick pin to retain. simply excellent.
Well worth the drive for me, as FRW again put on a show w lots of comedy, odd characters and excellent wrestling as well. Great to see JD, Mr Nox and his lovely wife, and meeting Shane Daly from the hammer,and more. Watch for JD"s photos, Im sure they will be excellent, and give you a taste of the action. Im hopting to return to FRW in may or June, depending, and if you want a good time, and dont need to have ten great classics, and enjoy old time style wrestling, check out an FRW show.
