Hey gang, Skitz here-
My house flooded while I was away last night and so it's been kind've a crazy day today- not as crazy as the action last night in Dubuque , but crazy nonetheless, so forgive the delay on the results...
Black Iron and Mikey Wild went toe to toe in a return bout further the feud between Wild Mayhem and M.O.B. that saw some brand new tricks pulled out of each man's arsenal, but in the end as Matt Mayhem chased Trevor Blanchard from the ring, Wild locked up Iron making the masked man tap out.
Chris Cairo came out for the next match and waited as Kanoa announced his opponent for the evening- "The Chosen One" Dehok. Dehok seemed anxious to get things started, charging Cairo before the bell, but Cairo launched him over the top rope each time. The bell rang and the match began, Scott Spade at ringside got involved anytime he was able to sneak in behind the ref's back, but Cairo still managed to overcome the odds. Just when it seemed like Cairo had it sewn up and ready for the pin, Dehok rolled out of the ring and the ref counted 10 to give Cairo the win by count-out.
Up next the M.O.B./Wild Mayhem war continued with Matt Mayhem and Trevor Blanchard going at it. As always Blanchard had Mayhem's chest as a target- unleashing a flurry of chops but Mayhem had Blanchard's number, nailing a 2nd rope leg drop before rolling him up for the pin.
Scott Spade and Dehok were back out again, this time with Spade in action against Joey Cece. Cece had the powergame in full effect but Pure Evil were as devious as they are vicious. Dehok chased Nikki around the ring on multiple occasions distracting both Cece and the ref, allowing Spade to use everything from the chain to a chair to abuse "The Pitbull". In the end it was Cece readying for the spear, but Dehok hooked his leg, and when Cece turned around to face his attacker, Spade came up behind and nailed the Ace Crusher for the pin. After the match Pure Evil continued to attack Cece, drawing out the challengers for Pure Evil's Tag Belts- American History Next. AHN said they were tired of waiting, and instead of having their rematch at King of the Royals, they should go ahead and have the match tonight. Pure Evil accepted the tag match.
Back and forth the two teams went, but Pure Evil had things in their control as they isolated Steve Stone, but Stone hit a swinging neckbreaker on Dehok and managed to finally make a tag to his partner Hardcore Craig who came in to clean house nailing Spade with a Michinoku driver, but Dehok broke up the pinfall. Craig then hit a kryptonite crunch for another 2 count, then both members of AHN hit an assisted powerbomb for the pin, and held up the belts in celebration in front of the Dubuque crowd. POWW senior ref Bob "Pee Wee" Parrella took the straps from the men and explained that while they won the match, it was non-title. AHN chased Pee Wee from the ring in anger over the decision.
As the ring cleared, Kanoa came out to see who his opponent would be. Cairo came out and said Kanoa would be facing one man he has never beaten in singles action- Ruff Crossing. Crossing kicked things off by stomping on the bare feet of "The Flyin' Hawaiian" as he promised to do before the match. after a series of suplexes and a top rope shoulder block that saw Crossing launch himself over 1/2 way across the ring, Crossing had things completely in his control. Kanoa made several attempts to break free of Crossing's grip, but was cut off a number of times until a number of headbutts took the former World Champ off his game. Crossing attempted a crossbody to regain control, but Kanoa caught him in a GTS, follwed by a sharp kick to the head. Distracting the ref gave Melanie Cruise the chance to come into the ring hitting a big slam on Crossing, followed by a leg drop. Kanoa attempted the pin but only got a 2 count. The match went on with Kanoa hitting Crossing with everything he had until Kanoa went for a hurricanrana, but Crossing countered it into a sitdown powerbomb. 2 pump handle drivers later drew Melanie into the ring again, and with Crossing and the ref distracted, Kanoa picked up the Regional Title and was set to nail Crossing until Cairo came out and grabbed the belt away. As Cairo and Kanoa chased each other around the ring, Melanie low blowed Crossing behind the ref's back, bringing out Nikki from Outta Control to stand in her way. Melanie launched Nikki down to the ground and Kanoa pinned Crossing before Cairo caught upto him and the three battled to the back, leaving Nikki and Crossing to tend to each other's wounds and leave together back to the locker rooms.
Final match of the night was the POWW Royal. The winner of the royal wins the last entrant position in the King of the Royals on May 31st in Woodstock.
Both members of Wild Mayhem came out first and traded moves back and forth with neither man getting the upper hand. Scott Spade was out next, though he refused to get into the ring until being dragged in, but before too much damage could be done Trevor Blanchard came out to even the odds. Black Iron was out next, followed by Joey Cece, John Douglas, Dehok, Chris Cairo, Kanoa, and Ruff Crossing. John Douglas was the first man eliminated, followed by Mikey Wild, Scott Spade, Trevor Blanchard, Dehok, and Matt Mayhem, leaving Cairo and Kanoa who were battling on the outside of the ring, having escaped elimination by sliding out under the bottom rope. Cece and Crossing faced off and Cece was thrown over the top rope. Kanoa returned to the ring first and nailed a spinbuster on Crossing before Cairo came back in and came back at his former partner with such fury that both men went over the top rope, leaving Ruff Crossing as the last man standing in the ring, and the last man to enter into the King of the Royals.
We'll see you all there!
