Fire Pro Wrestling: DEMOLISHED (Featuring Former WWF/WWE Tag Champions Ax and Smash, Demolition)
Due to the untimely passing of Fire Pro's heart and soul, "Diehard" Steve Szoke, the entire show was scrapped and was turned into a tribute show to the man that started Fire Pro.
Show starts with Double-J asking all the wrestlers to come to the ring for a ten-bell salute to Steve Szoke. After the ten-bell salute the first tribute video of the night was shown. A very touching and emotional moment at Impact Christian Church.
1. "Big Jack" John Burke def. Cade Lee w/Lynn Marie
The opener of the show saw Cade Lee return to a Fire Pro ring to do battle with his old nemesis, John Burke. There was plenty of hard-hitting action as both men gave-it everything they had to come-out on top. After a miscommunication between Cade Lee and Lynn Marie, John Burke was able to pull-out a big win in this meeting of former Fire Pro champions.
2. Marc Houston def. "Stonehands" Slater Wallace
Marc Houston showed why he is a future champion in Fire Pro, by manhandling the rookie. "Stonehands" showed some spark but could not overcome the offensive onslaught of Houston and was put-down with a big DVD for the 1-2-3.
3. Groucho Marks (Gilbert Lewis and "the Mustache Model" Carl Morris) & Celtic Cross (Angus McDuff and The Crusader) def. The Uprising ("Warfare" Jeremy Hadley and "Mucho Loco" Luis Rojas), Virus and Syn in an 8-man, elimination-style tag match.
This was a fun match to watch as 8 of the most colorful characters in Fire Pro did battle. Crusader was the first eliminated via Syn putting his feet on the ropes for extra leverage. Vrirus was the first casualty for his team after falling prey to the deadly battering-ram by Morris and Lewis. The Uprising eliminted Angus after a double-team blockbuster. Syn was the next to go, evening it up to 2-on-2. Gilbert hit a desperation mafia-kick on Hadley, eliminating him and leaving Rojas all-alone. After a valiant effort, the tag champs were able to the put Rojas away with another battering-ram followed-up by a massive earthquake sit by Morris for the 1-2-3 and the victory.
4. Fire Pro 24-7 Hard-Target Title Match
Jynx def. "Flawless" Dave Allen to become the *NEW* Hard Target champion
This was a very exciting back and forth match, with Jynx narrowly escaping defeat by countering Dave Allen's finish with a roll-up for the title victory. With the title being contested under 24-7 rules Prince Ali came out immediately after the match, leading to...
5. Fire Pro 24-7 Hard-Target Title Match
Jynx def. Prince Ali to retain the Hard Target championship
Another excellent match, truly elevating Jynx into singles stardom as he not only won the title, but successfully defended it immediately following his first match. A very big night for Jynx indeed.
6. Fire Pro PRIDE Title Match
"Youngblood" Hayden Kent and "Regulator" Tristin Hayze went to a draw.
A very emotional, intense and hard-hitting match. These two battled to the time-limit, hitting each other with everything that they could possibly think-of, including each others respective finisher. After the match ended, both men embraced midring to a standing ovation.
7. P.T. Hustla w/Lester Mitchell def. Tony Scarpone
8. Chase "The Face" Richards def. "Roughneck" Jay Ryan
Chase and Jay Ryan are no strangers to each other and this was a true battle that left both men with immediate swelling and bruises. We saw Chase use several of Steve Szokes' offensive manuevers to his advantage in this encounter as well as dozens of BRUTAL headbutts. After "Roughneck" kicking out of Richards' Go-2-Sleep and Chase barely surviving Ryan's Lariat, "The Face" picked-up the win with Steve's own 'Concussion-Bomb'.
9. Last-Man Standing Battle Royale
This match saw the emergence of the man known as MACHINE as an unstopable force in Fire Pro. He eliminated every man that wasn't apart of the Wages of Syn. It came down to the 'Fighting Irishman' Angus McDuff and MACHINE with MACHINE continuing his tear and winning the Last-Man Standing Trophy.
10. Roach, Ax and Smash def. The New Breed (Kenny Courageous and Devon Fury) and "The Product" Christopher Kent w/ Marvin Hartman
The sold-out crowd at Impact was on it's feet for the debut of Demolition. This was a great match, head-to-toe, with Ax and Smash showing the teamwork that made them the longest reigning tag-champs in WWF/E history. After a devestating tag manuever by Ax and Smash, Roach sealed the deal with a huge top-rope Frog-Splash for the 1-2-3.
After the match, Chase Richards made his way to the ring with a bag and a microphone. After putting-over Demolition and Roach he informed the crowd that Steve had asked that he continue on with Fire Pro and that was exactly what he was doing. Fire Pro isn't going anywhere and it's going to continue to deliver the same product that Steve wanted. He then began to tell the crowd of how hard it was to come-up with a way to end such a special show. After much toiling he told a story of Steve's last road trip and how-much what was about to happen, made him laugh. So, after a special introduction, Carl Morris came-out to sing Elton John's 'Tiny Dancer'. The entire locker-room cleared out and surrounded the ring, hugging and sawying as Carl belted-out his rendition of the timeless classic. Chase removed Steve's boots from the bag he brought to the ring and set them in the middle of the ring and Tristin Hayze set one of Steve's t-shirts next to the boots. After Carl finished his song, there was a long stnading ovation and several Fire Pro and Steve chants to close out this touching show for a very special person.
Fire Pro would like to thanks everyone that came out Saturday. We hope to see everyone once again on June 28th!!!
