Despite the rain and a lost ticket for Tinieblas Jr the show went on and despite these two problems it was an otherwise good show.
First Match.-Great Cheyenne defeated Great Malaki.By the way why was one of Malaki's acolyte's wearing plaid pants?!?! I probably shouldn't mention that here but since they blocked my view a few times this is my way of getting back at them.
Second Match.-Mascarita DORADA and Los Meteoros defeated Pierrotito,Pentagono something or other and Guerrillero del Infierno.Best match of the day thanks to Dorada's superb areal skills.
Third Match.-Perhaps the most confusing one of the day as Swat Kat defended his mask in what was a handicapped[?] match against two guys whose names I can't remember.Originally his opponent was going to be Lupillo, who wears neither a mask and is bald,so they got two other wrestlers who had masks and the stipulation was that if Swat Kat lost he'd unmask,if he won referee Apenitas would shave his head. And Apenitas was the ref.So it came down to a three on one beat down as Apenitas helped the rudos bloody up Swat Kat in the first fall.Swat Kat recovered and gained the second fall. After Apenitas's constant interference a second ref came out for the third fall and Swat Kat got the victory with a great frog splash outside of the ring. This would have been the best match of the day had it not started raining and caused the wrestlers to miss a few spots.
Fourth and final match.-Atlantis and Charly Manson Jr defeated Aguila del America and Gringo Loco.Due to a lost[?] airline ticket Tinieblas Jr didn't arrive in time which meant that Atlantis came in as a tecnico and with Alushe as his mascot. And since the ring was still wet from the rain some spots were missed and others not tried at all.The third fall descended into camp comedy with Alushe facing off with Aguila. The plus side of the match is that Atlantis looked in fine form,if the rain somewhat limited what he could do,and Charlie and Gringo did hit some great spots at times, particularly Charlie jumping into the air, landing on Gringo's shoulders for a second or two, jumping back off and into a huracarana on Gringo to end the first fall.Sadly by the third fall the wrestlers seemed to agree that the wet ring was detrimental to their well being and took it easy, with Atlantis simply rolling up Aguila in a small package for the pin, rather than applying his legendary over the shoulders backbreaker called La Atlantida.
If any one word could best describe the show it would be professionalism,at least on the part of the wrestlers for actually wrestling in a wet ring.Sadly the event organizers didn't bother to mop the ring between matches every time it rained a little which caused problems for the wrestlers.Thankfully the luchadores knew their job and did it well and delivered a good show in what were less than ideal circumstances.
P.S. Yes Apenitas did shave his head more or less,a really short short crewcut if not completely bald.
