Summertime Black & Blues Results that I got from the IWA message board posted by Jim Fannin:
I'm about to head out for work but I thought I would get in here and give some kind of official writeup for the show since I'll be heading up to the hospital right after work and I don't know when I'll be back on here.
The first couple of matches were basically tryout matches due to the one Michigan car breaking down. Both matches were very good.
1. Colin Troy def. Erico with a springboard from the outside into a La Magistral rollup. Strong showing from both men and we'll probably be seeing them again in the future.
2. Jeff Brooks def. T.D. with a shooting star press. This was just T.D.'s fifth match and he showed A LOT of promise. Ian came to the ring after the match and stopped Jeff Brooks. He said "I have an invitation for you" and the entire crowd gasped. Ian then said "I'm just kidding, get the hell out of here," and the crowd went nuts. It was a very funny moment. Ian then proceeded to welcome T.D. into the family and say that it was going to be his pet project to make him into a star. T.D. is a student of Truth Martini's and like I said, he did very well for only his fifth match.
Joey Eastman then comes to the ring and welcomes himself back into IWA and announces that he has acquired the services of Prince Mustafa Ali. This leads into:
3. Prince Mustafa Ali/Troy Walters/Ricochet def. Team Ja(y)son (Hades, Quick and Dukes). As mentioned earlier, this was probably the match of the night. Crazy ass dives galore to the floor at one point including Quick doing a 900 off the top rope to the floor. Ian conducted a poll after the match and almost everyone raised their hand in agreement when asked if they thought they were going to see Quick's "brains all over the floor" after the 900. The end came as most were on the floor and Hades was setting up for the Killswitch. Quick came flying over the top rope and delivered a flying kick to the face that laid out Hades. Ali then set Hades up in the corner and delivered the Weapon of Mass Destruction (inverted 450).
Ian then invited Ricochet into the TPI and announced that he would face defending champion "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush in the first round.
4. Drake Younger def. Sami Callahan with a Drake's Landing onto a chair. This was a very stiff match with lots of brawling on the floor and up onto the stage by the announce area.
5. Daffney def. Kimberly Kash with a hammerlock Northern Lights suplex. Daffney then said that she will be back to take the title from either Daizee when she recovers from injury or in a tournament if Daizee has to be stripped of the title if her injury lingers.
6. Dingo def. Chuck Taylor with a moonsault to retain the IWA Mid-South World Heavyweight Title.
7. Sex, Drugs & Wrestling (Ash & Kris Chambers w/ Ethan Page) def. Naptown Dragons (Scotty Vortekz & Diehard Dustin Lee) when Ash used a chain to get the pin. Ian announced that Sex Drugs & Wrestling are the first team in Double Death tournament.
8. Michael Elgin def. Egotistico Fantastico with ground and pound. This was a very fun match that showed Ego go toe to toe with Elgin for most of it. Ego blocked the first ground and pound attempt with a stiff right hand to the jaw. The end came though when Ego went for a double springboard moonsault and Elgin moved. Elgin then pounced onto the fallen Ego with ground and pound for the victory. Jeff Brooks then ran out and attacked Michael Elgin on the floor after the match but was not very successful. Elgin tossed him around a little and left him laying on the floor. Scotty Vortekz then ran out and started putting the boots to the fallen Egotistico Fantastico and yelling "Scotty knows" and "Scotty knows what's up" obviously in some sort of reference to Ego's theme song of "Scotty doesn't know." I'm not sure what Scotty knows and "what's up" but I'm intrigued to find out.
9. Mickie Knuckles vs. Sara Del Rey went to a no contest. There were no pinfalls yet when the injury occured.
I may have an update later tonight after returning from the hospital. Hopefully the surgery is succesful.
