I'm surprised after all the hue and cry over the closing that this hasn't been a real hot button on the boards...
I don't know Ian, I've never spoken to him/emailed him, nor have I ever been to his shows...so I'll refrain from comment, except to say this...
I sincerely hope that if this show goes off, that it helps to close/satisfy some unresolved issues (that have been aired in this public domain) and doesn't affect any other promotions/events in a negative manner...because that's bad for EVERYONE who enjoys our business...whether they be a talent, promoter, booker, or fan...

Ian made a ton of money from IWA over the years doing this exact same thing time and time again. I can't imagine running shows is going to make him more money than the average job would. Hell, the reason he quit in the first place was because he ran out of money! Fans weren't bringing it in to see Central Illinois' finest (and yes, that is sarcasm).
He's just going to run out of money again, create another woe is me thread on his message board and people will shove money into his pockets foolishly. And he'll lose it all again. It's an endless cycle with IWA. It's been going for years and as long as Ian is physically capable of swindling his fans, he'll continue to do so.
And I don't believe for a second that he couldn't find a damn job at Walmart, Target or any other random shopping center that obviously hires for the holidays at the very least. Even McDonald's pays over $7 an hour. Swallow your pride and join the working class for the sake of your family.

The Necro Butcher still can't get better bookings even after appearing in The Wrestler?

Hopefully some fans do come and show support to the workers, whether they are "Central Illinois' finest" or not (And no, that is NOT sarcasm...), and help support indy wrestling. After all, that is what all brought us to this board to begin with, correct?

If Ian worked at McDonalds, he could borrow/steal the used cooking oil and have "Boiling Cooking Oil" death match, or something along those lines. Or a "First to eat a McRib and not vomit" death match. Now that's hardcore.

This is just getting embarrassing. First the faux retirement by Ian and then going out of business for the one millionth time. It makes me sad that wrestling hasn't evolved far enough from it's carny roots.

It makes me sad that wrestling hasn't evolved far enough from it's carny roots. Wrestling will never be more than what it is right now. It lost its heroes long ago. Little kids aren't pulled into the mysticism, they know whats going on. The days where the superstars warned children about the dangers of drugs, and the importance of drinking your milk and taking your vitamins is long gone. I, for one, honestly believe that is what wrestling needs for a major "revival." It needs that new generation to be wowed and intrigued. Wrestling on the Indy level is filled with more dirty tactics and foul play than ever. And unfortunately, its the fans that lose out.

I think Ian should fight Ed Chuman for rights to the IWA-MS name. Chuman wins a 2 outta 3 falls count anywhere match, with the Chuman-driver, then merges the roster and forms the IWAWA.

What can I say? This is a black mark on Indy wrestling in the area. This guy has opened and closed his fed more times than anyone can even count and yet there are people out there still drinking the Kool-Aid and defending his actions.
