At Lucha shows you have nothing to worry about. Just pray the first two matches don't go on forever because they always suck.

is anyone else scared to go to one of these, expecting a whole bunch of people that don't speak english? Honestly as a Mexican I don't know if I should be offended by this. Really what are you expecting to happen?Sure the language is different but of you really think about it it's the same thing as going to an Anglo wrestling show. The staff at the Congress theater also speaks perfect english so I doubt that any language barriers will exist.Just go there, watch the matches and don't mess with anyone and everything should be fine.If you go with the purpose of finding trouble my life experience is that you will always find trouble. So if you do go sit back and watch the show and you'll live to tell about it,unless you sit in the front row. Then you run the risk of having a sweaty Mexican in a mask and tights fall on you but that's actually part of the fun.

These shows are fun.
However, there are usually huge breaks between every match and the shows often start late.
Also, the 2 out of 3 falls and the rule of pinning the captain can make some matches drag.

How many show up though? I'm kinda sick of the 200 people indy shows. I want to be part of big crowds in a large venue.
I'm probably dreaming though, but the Congress Theatre sounded pretty big to me.

I know that every time that I have made it to the Congress Theater there was at least 800-1000 fans there.

I asked because it's the same reason that would scare me away from a japanese show. Sure this is in America, you would have to pay in american currency and the like, I wouldn't want to feel like the odd man out here. Same thing goes for something like UAPW, makes me wonder if I'd stick out.

Considering that the main event will have Mil Mascaras taking on Canek which is a classic lucha libre feud I would expect a good turnout.

What would "good turnout" in your mind be?I don't want to start any crap here but in all due honesty the last show which featured Hijo del Santo and Mistico didn't get as many people as one would have assumed.

I'm as confounded about that as you are.The very morning of the event I told Eddie Carranza the owner of the Congress that they would have to turn people away at the door because there would be so many people.Well there weren't that many people. It's just one of those things.
