. Crimey, What would be an example of a blowaway show? Please give me a match listing and provide video links if possible. Don't waste your time asking, all you'll get is NGW & similar stuff. Hey, some NGW stuff isn't too bad. It's supposed to get windy out later...better put on my heavy boots so I don't have a blowaway ;D Ha blowaway....ya know Crimey, just for you...I won't say any more on that. You suffer enough sometimes.

I will not let someone who's never run the ropestell a veteran of 16 years what a good show is or isn't.
I've never run the ropes and I could tell you what good show is or isn't. sh*t, anybody can tell you what a good show is or isn't. If I didn't like last months IWA show, it wasn't a good show. That doesn't mean somebody else wouldn't like the show. You spend too much time emotionally invested with your mistress. lol

And by the way, I haven't been involved in Powerhouse since I got back in the ring so I have no vested interests in defending the show. However, these are my friends and I will not let someone who's never run the ropestell a veteran of 16 years what a good show is or isn't.
Yeah, they'll just never buy another ticket and take their business elsewhere if they're not allowed to talk. You sir exhibit one of the most ultra-elitist attitudes I've ever witnessed on this board. I don't know what you're even doing here.

I'm still waiting for a blowaway show...still haven't gotten anything above average yet. Keep in mind that I book for the majority, not the minority. We have an eclectic crowd, but the overwhelming majority is families and "old school" fans. That's why we have to throw a little bit of everything out there, because if you don't keep the fans happy then what's the point of running. I couldn't agree more. It seems a lot of people miss that point. Keep your core fans happy and it will pay off, catering to the minority will more than likely lead to disaster.

I think it depends on where you are in the area. If you're downstate, then use some of the downstate guys, if you're upstate, use the known upstate guys. If you're somewhere in the middle, try to blend in both & make it good. WWA's last show did a good job of that. Sure, some of the guys working aren't known up north, but down sout by MO. they are more known.
Syn,
These waffles are pretty good, what's in them?

I am looking forward to this card. I always have a goodtime at their shows, as does most of the crowd. I am glad to see that Jay Ryan is working this show and that Lawerence and Benjamin are back also. I enjoyed their match last time. Powerhouse always puts on an enjoyable show and this one looks like it will be enjoyable as well. I like where the storyline with the A-Team looks to be headed and it is always nice to see a heel manager, and Tobi plays it pretty well. It will be interesting to see where they are headed with Botch as champion.

Crimey - I'm actually a little surprised that you haven't mentioned that there will be some St. Louis talent on the card. I know you're closer to the scene than anybody else on the board.

Powerhouse shows are good shows. I agree with Tobi about catering to his audience. The match I looked most forward to on his last card got little or no reaction from the crowd. I love the fact I can go to more than one wrestling show a month now and they're good.
Nothing blows me away, but I have to say that the Powerhouse shows are consistently good and I have never walked away disappointed. The worse I can say about the fed is that the wrestling can be mediocre in the most awesome way possible. Sometimes nothing spectactular happens, but it's always good, solid wrestling with an emphasis on telling a story rather than popping the crowd. The cruiser show was great and the cage match I saw was a lot of fun. Shows are ran smoothly .
I don't know if it is a conscience effort, but I certainly appreciate Powerhouse shows not being scheduled on the same day as other shows in Central IL.

I made it myself! YAY! I'm gonna be sick! (that was on last night lol) Old PCW days kind of sucked at some points, but as I've said before...they are far far better now...even WITH Tobi there If I'm not still on house arrest for my grades by then, I may make it out.
