Please answer this. What difference would it make who is running it? Because when this all started it was promoted on this board as a HUGE WINDY CITY WRESTLING CARD and we got updates on the card everyday and this was going to be Windy City's biggest show since the Ampitheatre days etc, etc and now we get "Wrestling Legends Under the Stars" and WCPW's name has conviently been left off tickets and posters. So what is the deal? Why can no one answer this question for me? I guarantee you if AAW, Elite, Joey Eastman, Billy Whack, POWW or whoever else was running this thing their name would be ALL OVER IT. How do you not see that this is shady? First of all, it is easy to say "I would do this" when you are on the outside looking in. None of us know how these events have come together. The fact of the matter is, the flyers and posters I have seen have Windy City's name as co-sponsors of the WRESTLING event, along with the other sponsors. I am sure no advertising would go out that Sam has not approved, and his company's name IS on the posters and flyers I have seen. So this debate on SHADY is largely unfounded. FACT: Windy City usually delivers on what they promote. FACT: Toyota Park Delivers some of the biggest names in Music every year. Clapton, B-96, Chesney, Buffett, and many more have used that facility and love it. Have to think there is intregity there as well. Shady? hardly. Now, it might just be possible that Sam has other things to do than answer a question that has been answered here before. I don't know....he does have a show this weekend, and the biggest show of his company's history 2 weeks later after all. Let's stop watching the zapruder films guys. No conspiracy to be found here. Shady...not shady...again who cares. my last post was deleted...even though it had no swears in it and nothing wrong. I simply told it like it is...now that is a little shady.
Gray...there was a post that said they will have 8x10's there if you have nothing of your own or you can bring your own item to have signed but I'm sure someone will undoubtedly ask the question again because we dont like to go through the other posts, people simply post the same question over and over again.
Hogan will not be on the wrestling show.
Whoever is running the wrestling show, they don't have Hulk Hogan wrestling on it.
The deciding factor in whether or not you go to watch pro wrestling shouldn't be company name it should be the talent on the show.
If a fan of another wrestler sees that his favorite guy is wrestling or signing, the first question should not be with what company? It should be where and what time?

DC Thank you I did not see Windy City's name on the flyer. You have to admit they were all gung ho about this a month ago and now nothing but tumbleweeds.

I never said that you assumed that. Everyone here loves to take a sentence or two from someone and over-analyze it to the last detail.
What I'm saying is the fed's reputation should not be the single most important thing in whether or not you go watch a show, it should be the talent on a show like this. This show has legitimate legends wrestling or appearing beforehand.
If this was just another independent wrestling show without any legends or established wrestling superstars then a person will always go on reputation because thats all you have. No one is paying money to watch a Steve Boz, Danny Daniels, Soul Touchaz, Frankie Valiant, or anyone else out there...A wrestling fan at that point is just paying for entertainment.
Now some people are going to come out and say " I pay to go see these guys wrestle." Well that's great for you and them but a show like the one we are talking about with Brutus and Tito and the Nasty Boys is meant to appeal to the casual fan more than the guys who are on message boards and read dirt sheets and know every little thing about independent wrestling.

Let's not knock Steve Boz. He is a terrific worker and his match with current ROH Champion Austin Aries could be the show stealer. I am one who is looking forward to both the signing and the actual show. There has been so much crap going on this website about this show. If anyone is not interested in meeting true wrestling legends or seeing a great show, please stay home.
Chris Sader did tell me that there will be merchandise for sale of all the legends. E-bay is chalked full of items for Hulk Hogan.

I didn't knock Steve Boz. I simply said no one is paying to see just him wrestle.

To clarify, this is my response to a PM I received from knobbsismyhero regarding his deleted post:
My apologies for not contacting you sooner. I deleted a bunch of posts that got waaay off topic on that thread. If I inadvertently deleted one of yours, it was not my intention and I apologize for that.
Please feel free to repost. And again, my apologies.
Chris

I don't think there is anything shady going on but people are being ripped off.

Never been to an event at Toyota Park. I assume if it rains that day, while the ring may be covered, the fans could get a bit wet after being soaked, so to speak, at the autograph signing.

I love collecting autographs. I've been doing it for years now. I've been to autograph shows all over the country but mainly just the ones in Rosemont two or three times a year. I've seen shows where Hulk Hogan has signed on the east coast for $150 to get a picture taken with Hogan and $150 to have him sign it afterwards or to sign something else...$300 for a picture and an autograph. So...if the $99 is correct and you get everyone for that price...I don't see how that is getting "soaked" at the signing.

There is a famous steakhouse in New York, Peter Lugers, that is always crowded with the business (read credit card) crowd. One of their appetizers is sliced tomato. They charge $10.95 for the pleasure of eating this. $10.95 for a sliced tomato, no kidding.
There is a restaurant in Hooterville where I live that charges $ 3.75 for the same thing. So, I should shut my mouth and be grateful that this place is only charging me $3.75 for a sliced tomato. OK...I get it now. Thank You

WCPW is putting on the wrestling show.
Toyota Park and Chris Sader are putting on the autograph session.
BOTH SEPARATE EVENTS AND SEPERATE PROMOTERS!!!
I hope that answered the question.

With the Hogan thing being as ridiculous as it is.... the WCPW event looks to be a pretty good card. Don't let the Hogan Fan Appreciation Ripoff portion deter you from the actual wrestling show which should be fun!

In all fairness, the Hogan autograph price at Toyota Park is lower than at other Hogan appearances -- as I've aleady pointed out & iwamidsouth confirms. BUT we are in tough economic times, and we are frugal midwesterners. And calling the deal: Fan Appreciation Day is more than a little humorous. P.S.: Using the word "soaked" in the context of the subject of my prior post was a pun that I could not resist.
