Like my $10.95 tomato, if people want to pay it, the price will stay the same. if they lower the price of the tomato to $7.95, are we now getting a bargain?

There is a famous steakhouse in New York, Peter Lugers, that is always crowded with the business (read credit card) crowd. One of their appetizers is sliced tomato. They charge $10.95 for the pleasure of eating this. $10.95 for a sliced tomato, no kidding. There is a restaurant in Hooterville where I live that charges $ 3.75 for the same thing. So, I should shut my mouth and be grateful that this place is only charging me $3.75 for a sliced tomato. OK...I get it now. Thank You You don't have to shut your mouth Pete. I was just pointing out that you get an autograph and a picture from Hogan PLUS the other WWFers for 1/3 of the price that Hogan costs just for himself usually. You can still say that that is too high. You can still b*tch about the $3.75 tomato. You can b*tch about it if the price is lowered to $1.75 for all I care. Again, I was just pointing out that I know something about autograph pricing since I go all the time and $99 for what you are getting at Toyota Park is a good deal EVEN in these economic times. Mid July there is another autograph show in Rosemont. Some of the prices: Cal Ripken: $149 Bill Russel: $175 Peyton Manning: $199 Willie Mays: $299 Robin Yount: $99 So you can get Robin Yount on a baseball OR you can get Beefcake, Valentine, Nastys, Jimmy Hart & Hogan for that price. Just because YOU don't like the price doesn't mean that it isn't a FAIR price compared to what other autograph signings go for in this area. Last time I checked, no one was holding a gun to your head and forcing you to buy the autograph. If you don't like the price, don't go. But that isn't as much fun as bitching on a message board and talking about the price of tomatoes.

Ripken for $149 is about right if you ask me.

From the beginning, I said that if people are going to pay the price for any autograph, that is what sets the price. I never bitched about Hogan's fee. Does anybody give a sh*t what he charged in Bayonne New Jersey? No. What he charges here is the crux of the matter. My tomato analogy bothers some people, but it is used to make a point. Does my restaurant brag that Pete Luger's charges $10.95, therefore I should be happy with $3.75 here? If people want to help the Hogan Fund, good for them. Just tell me where "Fan Appreciation comes into being?

Who is more deserving of charging $99 for an autograph: WWE HOFer Hogan or MLB HOFer Robin Yount? I know Yount -- and I'd bet Ripken -- signed for free during their playing days. Ah, the good old days -- gone forever.
Bill Russell was legendary during his heyday for never signing autographs, not even for his Celtics teammates. However, several years ago, when he did a tour to promote his self-help/motivational book, you could get his autograph for the list price of said book. Just in the book, of course,; no other items or even pictures of him signing were allowed.

to some people Hogan is more deserving to charge, to others Robin Yount is. It's all a matter of opinion. If you want to pay the $99 do so no one is going to persecute you for it.
But like PTP said....this is not fan appreciation day. What is Hogan doing to appreciate his fans?
Also if you tried hard enough you could have gotten a Hogan autograph for free at some point in your life when he was wrestling just as you could now with any current wrestler.

Like others have said, its all about what its worth to each individual. Me personally, I think $99 for autographs of some of my favorite wrestlers growing up is a good deal. Others may think its a rip off. It all depends I guess.
I just want to know that its going on for sure before I get my ticket! I know that sounds crazy, but with all the doubting on some of the threads, I'm beginning to wonder!?

The Toyota Park site says that its $99 for HH's auto and pic but doesn't mention the others as part of the package. So which is it? And why do we all have to guess what's going on? Shouldn't it be more clear?

Shouldn't it be more clear? It's been made perfectly clear. The $99 gets you a pic and autograph from Hogan and gets you an autograph from The Nasty Boys, Jimmy Hart, Brutus Beefcake, Greg Valentine and recently added Al Snow and Tito Santana.

$99 may be tough for some people in these times. You do get 8 autographs so it's almost $10 per legend. You also get a pic with Hogan on your own camera. It may night be a "fan appreciation day" but it's still a fair signing. I do agree $149 for Cal Ripken or anyone else is a bit steep but some people will pay it. Since Mr. Ripken made millions already playing baseball and the fans have payed his salery over the years, he could be fair and charge maybe $30. Nowhere else can you make that money sitting on your fanny doing nothing.

As far as the other guys go, they have no business at all charging anything for their autographs.

FYI: A usually reliable source (except in matters regarding the Sears Centre! LOL) has informed me that in addition to the ROH show, Flair will be appearing at the convention center in Rosemont and will be charging only $49 for an autograph. And Flair has more than one ex-wife to support. Gotta give the Nature Boy a WOOOOOOO!
