Looks like wrestling is coming back to the area. First that show in Sterling back in January, now this. Interesting. What fed is running the show?

I'll have more information in the next couple of weeks. It's not so much a "fed" (hate that word) as it is just a one-shot deal by a guy from out east whose hometown is Dixon.

Dejavu, i was on the last event that tookplace in Dixon in 88 or 89 the event featured Dixons own Hurricane Smith ( Paul Smith) and on that nite Smitty took the WCPW strap from Frank "Tank" Melson. The Dixon H.S. gym was jam packed that evening if memory serves. WCPW also did an event prior to this event in i think 88 @ the high school and Verne Gagne and the AWA ran there in i think 87 as i remember working that event against Alan West, Adam' younger brother, lol. Good Luck on the event. BTW the last time i seen Smitty he was the sheriff of either Amboy or Rochelle, Il. in case u may be interested in contacting him to do an appearance.

Now I gotta hear more about this and who from Dixon is working out east. I grew up in Sterling and didnt know about that other show, now I hear about this one. Seems like the Sauk Valley area is becoming a Mecca of Wrestling.

He doesn't look familiar but it has been a lot of years since I lived up that way. Hope the show is a big success for the area, would be nice to see after the stories I have heard of the last show in the area. Good luck guys.

No offense, but big whoopie de doo.
But let us end the small ranting war and continue the topic.
I hope for more updates as June rolls closer.

In reality the last wrestling event to hit The Sauk Valley Area was Fighting 4 The Cure 2007... the event may have been a disaster in itself, but it was still good wrestling, and the fans still loved it... I sure will be in attendance for this one.
